i have almost the same setup. the rod looks exactly the same, made by BELL, the people that make bike helmets, etc., but mine has two metal loops on the ends so it hangs down further off the clothing hooks on either side. i put my rods on the top of the clothing rod and wedge the butt of the rods against the ceiling where it curves down a bit. keeps them in place perfectly.

I know this isn't much of a mod, but I enjoy it's usefulness.

So I have a 3rd row in my 4R and well... the middle row seats don't fold flat like in the non-3rd row option. Additionally I have 2 dogs that travel with me. So I bought this Kurgo divider which helps bridge the gap between the middle row and front seat (again, 3rd row 4Rs have a different seat configuration.

Well, with this Kurgo divider, I get hidden storage for my valuables. You can't see what's underneath and it is easy to get into from the front two seats. I can just reach my hand in the back to grab whatever.

Point is, it's nice to have this to keep the valuables out of sight.

I originally went that route, with the rods on top of the back clothes bar, but for my setup with carrying 7 rods, it was hard to angle the rod enough to get it off the top of the clothes bar without sliding the other rods around. Maybe because mine don't hang down that far without the metal loops? I tried really hard to make that work. I even had the ends of the clothes bar rigged up to be able to lower the whole thing to pull a rod straight out at one point. that was a PITA, so I went the KISS (keep it simple stupid) route with the velcro. Now I can pull one rod straight out if needed without shifting the other rods around. When they were on top, they were less "swingy", but that hasn't really caused me any issues. I fish every weekend, freshwater and saltwater, so I have light and heavy fresh and salt rods ready to go depending on where I stop to fish. tight lines!

Y'all consider what happens with those sharp pointy things in an accident? You may want to consider putting them in the other way.

Does anyone have a solid mesh or grate over their back window? I'm trying to figure out a way to leave the back window open but keep the dog safely inside.

Just hook a leash to one of the tie downs so that he doesn’t have enough slack to jump out. That’s what I’ve done.

Good idea, but I don't like to leave her on a collar/leash alone. I don't want her to get herself wrapped around something.

More importantly, I don't want someone saying "oh, what a cute dog, let me pet him. Wait! What's that red stuff and where did my hand go?"

Our GSD is a pu$$ycat with people when we are around and very protective of her house/car when we aren't there.

I like it this way and have thought through the accident scenario and am OK with it for me and my family. Can't put the reels in the front. If by pointy things you mean hooks, well tis the life of a fisherman.

That looks awesome. Is it possible to configure it so a person can sit directly behind the driver, and the center pass through blocker is also down? Basically allowing a bridge from the 2nd row (backseat not the third row) center to between the driver and front passenger seat? Wanted to make a bridge for my dog to lay in the back, extending onto part of the center console/armrest.

The Kurgo divider is foldable into 3 parts. So you could configure it to allow for a seat to be free behind either the driver or the front passenger seat. However, keep in mind that the Kurgo uses the headrest to support itself and when you are using it like I'm using it, there'a strap that also goes around the seat (to keep it from moving around).

So I'm not sure I understand which configuration you need, but this is adjustable.
