I'll take a measurement after the install to determine what I need for the rear to keep a 3/4" or so rake.
I think you went the right route. She'll be more than happy. If you want the 3/4" rake, (it was mentioned here) try the Wheeler's T13 Rear Coil Spring Pair. They're made by Eibach. It will give you that 1.5" raise in the back w/o it being too hiked up. A really smooth spring set up and leagues ahead of the stock set. Very affordable too. Here's a view of my rake:

Nice lift! What all have you done to your suspension?

If hers turns out that nice she'll be stoked!

I've read lots of good stuff on the T13's. They are definitely on the list of things to consider.

Thanks for the input!

Thanks guys. I'm running Kings 2.5's for KDSS on all around w/ adjusters, Icon Delta UCA's w/ 265/70R17 Falken Wildpeak A/T3W's. Here's my build:

Jagsr71 2018 TRD/ORP BUILD

ripntear - I think it'll look pretty similar if you go w/ the Wheeler's T13's. I'm more than impressed w/ them. I just checked and they're on sale for $159 right now. You won't look back.

jagsr71,

I read your build thread. You certainly did it right! That is a great looking ORP.

As far as the T13's go, it will depend on the front to rear height difference after I install the new front springs. They are suppose to provide a 1.75"+ lift. That's going to leave about a 1/2" in the rear over the fronts (fender well gap). I'm sure the rear's will compress a little as the front is raised. My goal is to have around 3/4". If the T13's provide a 1 1/2" lift that will put me back close to the factory rake and will defeat the purpose. I'll get a measurement and eyeball it after the the fronts go on and will decide which direction to go from there.

Thanks for the input. Very informative!

Good point. I didn't read closely enough on the 1.75". You'd have an increased rake and unless you tow a lot or load the rear much, you don't need that. Never have like that 'jacked up" look.
Be sure to post some pics so we can see how she turned out!

I thought through the different options. If it were my car I probably would have went a different route, but for what she wanted and that she was already ok with the stock suspension i felt like springs were the best option. If she has any negative comments about the handling i'll go for the gusto with new shocks and probably springs. Will know soon enough!
I think she'll be more than happy w/ the springs

Update: Installed the front springs today. Below are crappy before and after pics. Took us about 3 hours but could probably do it in 2 or less next time.

2018 TRD ORP w/KDSS Level/Lift Options-img_8756-jpg
2018 TRD ORP w/KDSS Level/Lift Options-img_8766-jpg

Measurements are from center (eyeballing it) of wheel to bottom of fender.

Before / After
LF- 19 3/4" / 21 1/2"
LR- 22" / 22"
RF- 20"/ 21 1/2"
RR- 22" / 22"

I wound up with about a 1/2" of rake and i'm totally satisfied with that!

I had an alignment done immediately afterward. Neither side was too far out but the shop only did enough to bring each side back into acceptable tolerances. I asked if they could have done better and they said there is no benefit to be had as long as it falls within spec. I didn't feel like arguing so I just paid and drove home.

My wife loves the leveled look and the red springs! She will drive it tomorrow and will let me know if it handles any different (good or bad) than before.

Thanks for all the input and suggestions!

RIPNTEAR, How did you and your Wife like the feel of the Ride with the 1.75" Lift you stated you got out of the Dobinson C59-300 front springs with the stock shocks?

I am curious to find out as I have a slight front tire rubbing problem, (mainly in Reverse in over cranked steering wheel position) and I am thinking your solution of a slight raise to the front end ONLY, will remove the bulk of this? Any ideas by others? -After reading my build/specs below.

I have a 2018 4x4 TRD Off Road Premium with KDSS. I do not want to do a full Lift to the vehicle, as I did a 2.5"-3" Lift on a 2002 4x4 4 Runner, and Never afterwards really like the feel on highway driving above speeds of 65 mph.The 2018 is a whole different vehicle, and frankly has a more comfortable highway cruising feel I don't want to lose or mess up!
My changes to 4Runner are basic, I upgraded to next size up from Stock tires to BF Goodrich All Terrain KO2s at size LT 275/70R17 on Toyota Stock Rims (this Tire up size added about .6" to Diameter ), and this had NO rubbing in driving over a 15 month period.

Then wanting to increase the style to 4Runner, I added Black Matte Method Rims MR31579060512N 17x9 -12 Offset 4.5" Back space, with the same previous BFG All Terrain KO2s at same size LT 275/70R17, and I get some rubbing in Reverse with Steering Wheel Fully cranked in either direction. The Rims added about 1.5" Width over all, and the negative offset resulted in the back space of the 2 Tires Rim assemblies, decreasing by about 1/4". The rubbing appears to come from the outside most edge of the Tire when fully turned in Reverse, rubbing onto the rear lower face of inner rear - Front Fender Wheels by front outside of Tire ,especially during parking.

Lifting front vehicle 1.5-1.75" seems like it would provide adequate clearance to avoid this problem, as well as to more bring the SUV to a closer nearer level Pitch -front to back.

Any thoughts? Again I Do Not want to do an over all Lift to this vehicle, been there, done that, -- it was cool! But now want a 4Runner safe enough for my wife to drive on our road trips at 65-75mph, and be relaxing in reasonable cross winds.

Also I also don't want to do anything to render the KDSS not ideally effective.
Thanks
Pete
