KDSS sway bar bushing fell out

I started having a front end clunk yesterday and I was worried that a bolt came loose or I busted a CV joint. Neither seemed too likely since I am very particular about torquing everything to spec, and I took care to watch my CV angles.

It sucked not having most of yesterday able to search the forum for possible causes (database error?) but when it finally came back up I found that the usual suspects are the sway bar bushings. This morning I saw this:

Thats the sway bar bushing that had slid out of the lower control arm connection. The angle of the connection relative to the sway bar seems pretty off since lifting the truck.

Anyone else experience this?

Just had this happen to me along the Mogollon Rim 2 weeks ago. Ordered new OE bushings and new brackets; apparently Toyota has also changed their front bushing and brackets for 2020+ T4Rs. What did you find out was the cause?

Ugh, nope, thankfully. Curious, how much lift have you got? The higher you go the more distorted the bushing angles become.

If you had someone do the work check the bushings they are asymmetrical and go in a specific way (should be obvious though) EDIT: looked at your pic, not on my phone and it is indeed correct orientation.

Based on your pic I'm guessing you're running Kings 2.5? what's your coil rating in the front and how far down do you have it cranked to (how many turns, post a pic)?

I'm running the king 2.5 with 700 lbs springs and only 3 turns ( 130+ lbs added weight in the front)

Also, if you're pushing close to or over 2.5 inches of lift in the front you should install the Treatyoak Offroad from KDSS spacer. One of its purposes is to avoid what happened to yours. That spacers lowers the fixed arm side so that the KDSS bars sits at a more neutral angel against the bushing. That was the first thing I did after I upgraded to the 700lbs coils.
