Thank you for your help. I can't believe these brackets are so cheaply made and/or Toyota does not make a rack that for the TRD Pro that can be more easily removed.

@niadh0 thank you for that write up. I'm sure it just saved me a ton of pain replacing my 2019 Pro rack today.

I ran into the same issues and then some. The loctite was so heavily caked on to the bolts it was making impossible to screw out. Ending up making these worse for myself by stripping the head of the screw. Decided to surrender and bring to the dealership's service to get professionally removed as I didn't want to make things any worse than i might already had. Service technician couldn't even get 2 of the bolts out as they were cross-threaded into the bracket (which not sure if this was caused from my own attempts to unscrew or if it was just a bad implementation at the port), and couldn't continue to remove even after cutting the bolt head off or else the bracket inside could mess up the body. So ended up having to order new brackets to replace the old that had the stuck bolts. Just wanted to share the nightmare this roof rack put me through.

My AG Pro arrives on the 14th and after reading some of the posts here I think I may just have the dealer swap this out before delivery. I think the standard rails look so much better.

Wow!

I am really glad I read this thread as my rack is going to be replaced under warranty because it is peeling.

Eventually I'd like to get a different full rack, but it's not in the budget right now.

I am going to request that I get to watch them replace this and print out these directions to take with me.

I'm not letting anyone screw up my Pro!!!

Yep, that's the clip I need to get to. Have you removed the headliner and is it difficult to get it off?

It’s a tight fit. But once you take off the weatherstrip on the back near the tailgate and the interior panels, there is just enough room to get your hand in there.

If they will fit, I have rails from a 2021 TRD Off Road. I saved everything in case I need to put them back on, but I could be willing to part with them. If that is what you are wanting.

If you already have the rails and are just wanting advice about swapping them out, that's for someone else to answer.
