I have a couple but it sounds like a hammer drill is on the roof once we go over 60 MPH even with the wind faring on and the trim on the faring . I love the idea and then work well with the stock rails.

I haven't heard of one of those making noise with the trim on. Something sounds off.

I had buffeting noises prior to the wind fairing, but, after I installed the wind fairing, that came with the seal attached, I don’t notice much at all and it is quiet. Maybe because I have 4 wide bars instead of two? Maybe the boundary layer is not being interrupted as much with 4 wide bars and the limited spacing of ~7” between each bar as compared to a large gap between just two? The fairing seal is laying snug against the roof. I also have the fairing moved out as far as possible. LFD stated in their directions that farther back would reduce the noise, but I am satisfied with where it is.

What length rack? Stock side rails?

FWIW, I've had the full length on the truck for >2 years (and >50k miles), I've carried 4 traction boards (xbulls, so not thin) stacked, hi-lift, light bar on top of the fairing, gazelle, ARB awning, and now a CVT hardshell RTT. The noisiest addition was definitely the RTT, but I've never experienced some of the things I've read over the past couple posts. Definitely never experienced hammering, or banging, or buffeting, or any sort of vibrations and much to the dismay of the 1GR-FE and my fuel economy, general highway cruising speed is ~80ish (or a bit higher out West).

Notice the 2010-2013 trail crossbars are no longer available. Are you guys planning on producing more for the trail 5th gens since the other 5th gen crossbars are not compatible with the trails?

Added two Plano waterproof 42” cases, Bull-X traction boards in the center of the cases and am about to mount my Hi Lift 42” jack, still in the wrap, on the forward crossbar with my LFD Hi-Lift jack mounts. Will have plenty of room in one case for my “dirty” recovery gear and the other one for “clean” gear. I am gong to create an extension for the fairing off the forward crossbar to mount a RollpaX 1.5 gallon gas container. I kept everything to a max height of 83.25” with my lift and 285’s, so that I can clear my 7’ garage opening.

Looks awesome!
What hardware did you use to mount the Planos?

By the way - just realized your TRD Pro has a sunroof. Did you get a Canadian model?

Stainless square u-bolts, large flat washers, lock washers, rubber seal/silicone between the case and the washer/bar to the inside. Aluminum flat bar to span the u bolts center to center. 3 U bolts per case. One on each bar. Similar U bolt to this one on Amazon. National Hardware N222-380 2192BC Square U Bolt in Zinc plated, #673-3/8"x4"x3" - Square U Bolt - Amazon.com
Not a Canadian model, although my father was a WW2 vet with the Canadian Army. I negotiated an aftermarket sunroof with the purchase as 2018 Pros in the states did not come with them. Good eye.

Went to do a mock-up for my RollpaX 1.5 gallon gas tube and everything was per what I measured, from the double rifle cases, to the position of my traction boards, etc. I am going to make a u shaped mount that attaches to the first and second bars in two places about 1” below the top of the LFD crossbars. The mounts for the gas tube swing open between the cases as planned to lift it up between the cases and Hi-Lift.

However, I finally unwrapped my new 42” Hi-Lift Jack, installed the LFD Hi-Lift mounts onto the Jack for placement and clearance to finish my RollpaX bracket design, and noticed that the LFD Jack mounts don’t line up with the 2” c-c slots on my LFD wide bars. The plans of mice and men... I have a couple ideas to resolve this.

I wanted to keep this as a semi permanent setup as it gets garaged at home and is in a fairly secure overhead parking structure at work. I only drive 5 miles one way. Too lazy to take off and down the Hi-Lift, cases full of all recovery gear, compressor, 4 way deflator, shovel, etc., etc.

So, when I was using these same mounts, I actually attached them in-line with the channels (both bolts in one channel). I see what your thought process was with keeping the rigidity of the mount by going "front to back", but the surface area of these mounts is great enough to keep them firmly placed even in the toughest of scenarios.

I even had it mounted horizontally on the side of my full length roof rack for a while...

As @007Tacoma said, they are intended to hold the jack front/back... I've used the mounts to hold the jack in a few different positions on my full length rack (and even in the bed channels of my Tundra), but now on the 4Runner it lives on the rear bumper.

Also, I hope the 42" works well for whatever your need is. After the first hands on class time with my 48", I got home and ordered the 60"
