I am anticipating that I will be this wknd, I got a deal on a "blemished" wide skid that had an imperfection in the powder coat, and as I'm a bit partial to magnet grey and also figured that this plate will be taking the brunt of the stones, chips, off-roading, weather, etc it wouldn't hurt to give it an extra layer of buffer and seal.

Sweeeeet
Finally got my wide skid on this wknd, aside from one bolt with the top spun off (thanks Toyota tech) being a particular PITA to get out..everything went smoothly and this thing looks awesome and TOUGH. Thanks again LFD!
Just a tip, when you bolt-up the rear/middle two bolts at the crossmember, make sure to use the spacers LFD provides to get clearance..I almost missed them in the bag because I used my own zinc-coated bolts for the install!

So just a heads up, the LFD skid is “Non” KDSS only...I learned the hard way after waiting over a month from the blk Friday deal, spending 3 hours spray painting, another 30 minutes removing the old skids, another 30 minutes installing the old skids. Their website said nothing about kdss not being compatible, (until tonight) after I contacted them. They did however respond immediately and offer a full refund plus return shipping. So a shout out to their amazing customer service 👍

So is the LFD skid really held on by only 4 bolts?
Also, if the truck were lifted by a bottle jack placed under the skid would the skid dent inwards? The bottle jack's point of contact is pretty small and I can't tell if the skid make contact with more than two crossmembers.

Are there any pictures of the MAB Crossbar Extension, website just shows one installed. What does MAB stand for?

Yes, 4 bolts. We routinely lift the vehicles using a floor jack in the center of the front skid. One of the jacks has a fairly small contact point, but the skid still doesnt bend.

Its just a foot long extension with two bends for stability. MAB stands for Mark's initials, the customer who came up with the idea for the part.

Curious, couldn't you have just notched it out like the othermanufacturess? I have Bud Built and that is the only difference (the side is notched on the drivers side to allow for the KDSS sway bar to go up and down)

Knotch what out? I would have to make cuts and expose the KDSS sway bar roll bars that stick down. I’m confused why companies just don’t make a skid that is universal and fits both kdss/non kdss. I just ordered the full kit from RCI, which I should have done to begin with...what’s the saying, buy once, cry once?

that's the radiator support bracket. It has nothing to do with KDSS... some skid manufactures require removal of that bracket anyway, some don't.
As for where to notch, you might have to notch the wings at the side of the plate, to allow the KDSS roll bar to go through. Thats what others are suggesting and where you will have problems fitting that plate, once u remove the radiator support.
RCI plates allow you to keep the radiator support plate, which is a plus for them. I have RCI and wouldn't trade them for the world...although I have the older versions and they hang about a inch lower than the newer renditions.

Any pictures, just trying to visualize how it attaches to the cross bars and how you can attach things to it.

We had initially had the non-KDSS called out on the skid description on the item page, but lost it at some point. Its been added back to the description. Regardless, we went around our own policy and immediately issued a refund, despite not even having the skid returned yet.
We are working on KDSS versions, but we don't want to just make a universal option, you loose a lot of clearance if you make a single skid that works for everything. KDSS is such a small percentage of vehicles that we don't think it makes sense to compromise on an entire product line's design for them.
As we've said, we're make to order on pretty much everything at this point. The skid in question was shipped out within the original estimated time window. We're trying to keep prices reasonable, but with that comes a lead time. Its the classic engineering triangle: cheap, fast, quality. Pick two.
