Nope. Any issues with clearance can easily be fixed by moving the rear cross bar forward slightly. I've seen a few people use the Gobi Ladder with LFD Roof Racks.

Disappointed in QC

Well.... at the first of last month I made my usual small order to slowly work my way up to a full rack. This time ordering a regular crossbar with a wind fairing. The regular crossbar was just as nice as the wide crossbars I ordered the previous month. However the wind fairing was pitiful. The edges on the top side, the side that shows, appear to be left unattended straight from the cutting torch. Meanwhile the bottom or inside edges are smooth and nice. It would have been nice if LFD would have made the bend the opposite with the rough edges on the inside. Or at least filed the edges a little. Oh well. On a side note I have to give credit to the Toyota engineers. When I installed the two wide crossbars I put them where Toyota stated would be less wind noise. Which was virtually none. But when my regular cross bar arrived with the fairing I could only install the crossbar before it started raining. So I drove with just the cross bar without the wind fairing for a couple of days and it would start to howl around 30mph. The wind fairing, ugly edges and all eliminated it.

That’s unacceptable on the wind fairing. All edges should be deburred prior to powder coating. I would request another one. Do you have a preference on the wide vs. narrow bars?

I really like the wide bars. With the oem rails the two wide bars would probably have been enough. I was planning on going the 7/8 route but now having 2nd thoughts.

I agree, that shouldn't have shipped.

@Lost-Again , I don't see a message from you yet for some reason, but if you can send us your address we'll get you a new one.

Got notice that my LFD Alum front skid shipped; less than 2 weeks from order date. Much faster than I was expecting.

Wonder if there might be enough demand for LFD to justify offering their trans and t-case skids in aluminum as well??

Hey guys! Just installed my full length LFD roof rack and love it!!! Has anyone thrown a kayak up there? If so, what are you using to secure it??? Any recommendations would be highly appreciated!

I just got my fairing in the mail yesterday as well and after seeing this post went to go check and mine looks to have some of the same roughness to the edges on the front of the fairing.

Besides aesthetics will this affect the fairing at all?

@jtgrinsell Its an aesthetics issue. PM or send us a message on help desk and I'll get you a new one.

We see that happen on the laser periodically, typically from variations in steel composition. It should have been dressed a little more before heading to paint though.

And I received my tracking number earlier but couldn't get to the computer. Thank you for such a quick response! That speaks volumes about LFD!!!!

What very few times I've had to reach out to LFD about their products, they have been very tentative in their response and quick to take any actions necessary. This is what keeps me coming back to them and will likely lead me to use them when I finally get around to upgrading my skids.
