Everything went well, although for the transfer case skid I could not get it installed by sliding the front in first even with only 2 threads holding the transmission skid. What I did instead was completely remove the rear transmission skid bolts and let it hang then mounted the transfer case skid to the side rails first then it was just a matter of putting a jack under the transmission and transfer case skid bolt area to lift it flush and installing the 4 bolts.
The rustoleum big projects cans worked well, but I had to leave them to cure in a hot garage for a long time because the paint took so long to fully harden and cure. I painted them awhile ago but they still felt fairly soft after a couple days, so I just let them sit in the garage for a long time. I'll probably try krylon next time.

I still need to take mine off, sand them, and repaint them... It might be time to do a video on that.

For the gas tank skid, should I install the brackets before the skid or attach them to the skid first? Particularly the passenger side bracket that gets attached kind of behind the drive shaft

Can I please ask what high-lift jack mounts are you using to mount it on the side rails?
Thanks!

Does the 7/8 rack interfere with the tilt function of the sunroof?
I haven't been able to find a clear answer.

Just placed my order for the 7/8 side rails, 2 additional crossbars (+1 crossbar/fairing that is included in the purchase) and the high-lift mount!!!
Have a long road trip planned starting 9/26. Praying to the LFD Gods my order gets here before then.
Excited either way!!! Thank you LFD!!!

We're heading out to Appalachian Toyota Roundup tomorrow, hope to see some of you there!
When it ends Sunday we're heading West for the week instead of heading home. We'll still have people in the office, but they're not the usual staff answering messages and such, so there may be a delay in getting some things answered. We'll be back to full staff Monday the 14th.

The answer is no, it will not interfere.
Mark with Trail or Sail Prod. has a short review of it in the link below.

The new style of ruggedized crossbar is $50 more per bar than the old style. Is the only difference the slots cut into them? Seem's lot just for that difference. Or is it the slots and stainless steel? Or am I missing something.

You are missing something, they offer stainless, steel, and aluminum. 5th Gen crossbars are $79 in steel and $129 in stainless. The ones in stainless say it right in the title so do the aluminum ones.

Yep totally missed the line "Now shipping "New style" 5th Gen Crossbars with mounting slots for easier accessory mounting!" in the just regular steel ones for $79. Thanks for setting me straight.
