I was expecting $60 to $200 per plate not $60 for all 3 plates!

Question for those with the 7/8’s rack. Could someone please tell me the height of the top of the crossbars from the top of the truck?

I’m currently running LFD crossbars on stock side rails and want to upgrade to the 7/8’s, I just want to be sure the height difference will still clear my garage..

Thanks!

Upgraded from the paint scratching mag mount to the Diamond Trunk/hatch mount K400SNMO and a Comet dual band antenna. Perfect fit on the crossbars! Ran the tiny coax through the channel in the roof rail into the plastic cover at the back, then down into the cab through the lift gate. Unfortunately the parking garage at work is a bit too short even for this setup so I only mount the antenna on weekends. Cross threaded and stripped out a plastic rain cover before I got the metal one, it's so much nicer. Not the perfect setup, but it works great for now and moveable as needs expand.

You didn't paint it?

Mine's coming in a few days. Not sure if I'm painting it either.

Looks like they got the aluminum one so paint isn’t required. I agree, I think I’d have still painted mine? I run their steel skid in the front but have been thinking about the aluminum just to save a little weight.

I don’t do any “rock crawling” so I didn’t see the need for a steel one. I got the aluminum mainly to avoid having to remove the stock skid plate for oil changes lol

As someone already pointed out, it’s aluminum, won’t rust and doesn’t need to be painted.

My front skid is not from LFD and was aluminum. I didn't paint it at first but it started looking ugly unless you polished it which was a hassle. So I painted mine. Recommend SEM black self etching primer and then trim black rattle cans.

Yes, aluminum will oxidize over time, so painting is an option if it becomes an eyesore.

I may end up painting the front skid to match while painting the transfer case and transmission skid plates once I receive them.

For any folks in the Houston area that needs a powder coat done or redone can call Precision Powder Coating, they will get your whole set or anything done for that matter for $100 min. to $150, even bumpers. They are the same guys that do one of a competitors work, one of the best coats in the business from customer based consensus. Their work has been shown on show vehicles and bikes that has won competitions or if you want a quality finish that still holds strong to offroad abuse. You can ship parts and they will resend it back if you prepaid the return shipping.

FedEx delivered my skid Sunday. That box was trashed but the skid was fine. I am surprised at how heavy it is- just under 45 pounds, but I am sure it will hold up just fine.

Just had a chance to measure for you. I measured the bar that is in line with the front mounting holes and in the center of the truck/bar and got 3-3/8”

Hope this helps! I had no issues fitting with the 7/8 rack and maxtrax mounted up top. I’m not sure how “standard” the height of a garage is though to be fair.

Now I’m running the lift I have no chance to fit ha

Well that's odd... It was on their website, but doesn't appear there now...
