Do the outside welded tabs on both sides of the cross member of your transfer case skid plate sit flush to the bottom of the frame? I spent about 4 hours the other day just trying to get them to sit flush with no luck. One side of the welded tab makes contact with the frame and on the other there is about a 1/4-1/2” gap and this on both sides. Not sure if it’s a big deal or not, but I would like to get it flush if there is a way to do it.
I installed an LFD Transfer Case Skid earlier this year and noticed the same thing. So I asked LFD (via their support page) why the "ears" welded on the ends of the skid which attach to the frame rails are slanted and don't sit down flat on the bottom surface of the frame rails. This was their reply:
"Those ears are made like that for removal after the skid has been used, from impacts it can bend slightly and that allows you to be able to pry it off against the frame."

Have you had any concerns running the fumoto valve with the permanent opening for the oil drain in this skid?
I'm looking at skid plates for Black Friday - LFD is on the short list. I run a fumoto valve also and my only concern is it is "exposed/open" vs some of the other skids with plates over the drain plug area... I'm likely overthinking this just wanted to get some input from someone using the combo!
I have the ARB 2000, however, it's mounted to the crossbar... Not sure what bracket you'd use to mount it to the side rail though
My thought was to have the bolts from the t-slot on the awning go through existing or drilled holes on the side rail of the LFD awning with some kind of spacer so the awning sits off enough to clear the cross bar bolt heads

Theoretically that should work, at least for one row of bolts. I believe ARB makes a bracket for something like this, the 813409 looks like it *could* work, but I can't seem to find any actual photos of it in use

I was actually wheeling this past weekend. Hit the skid right on that opening - no contact with the Fumoto. I think that's the closest I've gotten to the situation you are thinking of in the past 2 years of running these skids (Moab, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Kentucky, and North Carolina).
