LFD will take care of it, no question on that! On another note, I installed the overland bars that LFD shipped to me no cost because of all the rust issues I was having with my rack and the crossbars are legit. I like how easy it was mounting my RTT and having full access to the roof. I did push through one of the retaining brackets through and had to pull down the headliner during installation, but these are definitely a better option than running a full rack that is just going to get covered.

Sorry for the lag...did you try contacting them? They may not make them anymore due to low quantity. However, I wouldnt be surprised if they had some lying around or make a small batch to sell again.

I was excited at first they thought they had a few left but turned out their inventory was off. I mean what can really be that different? Has to attaché the same think just the crossbars length would have to be slightly adjustable since the TE rails are not = parallel

Looking to turn my 4 crossbars into a 7/8's roof rack.
Is there a video on installing the side rails? Exactly how many more cross bars do I need? I'd like to add at least 2 of the wide cross bars.
I'm not in a hurry but what is the lead time? I note lots of things are showing back order.

How many do you want to add? I think this is one of the greatest features that those of us with LFD racks for several years have found.... You can add/remove/move crossbars to suit your specific needs

Yes, the crossbars have to be adjustable. We simply don't sell enough of them to really justify keeping them in production and continuing to take up shelf space sadly, despite how much I love the early Trail.
If there's enough interest we can do another run.

All depends on what you want to use the rack for. You don't need to add any for structural purposes, we've run racks with only two crossbars before.
The wides give a bit more flexibility in use, and you can also bolt a rotopax mount directly to it.
Installing the rails is pretty straightforward, just need to make sure you caulk around each of the roof mount holes well before installing the mounting spacers.
Lead time varies, right now for side rails and a front fairing only its just a couple weeks, for complete racks its averaging more like 5 weeks.

I did this exact upgrade. Had 4 bars on stock rails and then upgraded to the 7/8s rack. I added 3 more which one was the integrated wind faring that came with the side rails (not sure if that deal is still active). So now I have 7 cross bars (including integrated faring). Install was crazy simple and prob took 30-45 minutes to mount the side rails.
Honestly, I could prob use a few more cross bars but only because of the limitations of how much they can adjust/slide forwards/backwards. Without the ability to mount a cross bars using one side rail hole, it is tough to get accessories with different mounting measurements perfectly lined up. The crossbar can only be adjusted forward or backward about 2 inches in one mounting spot. Then to move to the next mounting spots, that is about a 4 inches forward or backward.
So what i am saying is, based on your set up, you may need more or less bars than me LOL

Hi I ordered a couple LFD 5th gen crossbars and an integrated wind faring var from a local online supplier thinking that they had it in stock (no mention of lead time on the website). This was on April 19th. I had to follow up with them as the order confirmation email didn’t have much detail on ETA. When I got a reply, I was told it would take 4-6 weeks, and LFD was working on a batch and that they had some issues with powder coating. I totally understand that there is a production time and was upset do to the fact that it seemed like they had it in stock and ready to ship as there was no notice of a lead time like many other retailers had. If I knew this I would have ordered from LFD direct. Now it’s been 4 weeks and I called them to get see the status of my order and was told that there are delays do to the oil line hack/shutoff and changing of powder coating facility. The vendor said they will contact LFD to check on the status, but they are expecting a large order of the crossbars to arrive around the 2nd week of June. I was planning to have these bars before Memorial Day weekend to start on my 1st cross country trip and was excited to put them to use and coming up with viable excuse to my wife to get additional bars leading to a full rack, awning, light bar, and all the necessities of a happy marriage . Now I’m stressed that I won’t receive the bars and having to purchase some undesirable stock bars or a readily available commercial product. I was hoping to contact LFD to get a clearer eta so I can make a decision if I need to go buy some other crossbars for our trip. I can give more info but I don’t want to harm the vendor I ordered from. I’m not happy with my situation and think they can post more accurate info and have better follow up, but hopefully they will update their site and provide better customer service as they grow.

If its standard 5th Gen 4Runner crossbars, we're currently working on orders from around the week of April 12-16th, and should be getting a big batch in hopefully early next week from the powder coater that should take us through the next week or so of orders, which sounds like where yours would be.

Thank you. Will they ship direct or do they go to the vendor I bought them from and then shipped to me? I need to see if I will get them by the 26th or if I need to find another solution for my trip. Thank you for your fast response and help. One of the biggest reason I chose the LFD bars is about the great customer service I read on this forum.

I just got the newly redesigned wind fairing crossbar and the tolerances are out of wack. The product itself is nicely finished, and looks sturdy, but it is about 3mm too short, as you can see in my pics below. A bigger issue is that the holes are too short for the screws provided. I would need to get thiner screws and tnuts to make it work. I am disappointed by this product, given that I paid over $140 for it. I'll reach out to customer service to see what solution they recommend, and I'll report back.

The mounting ear got bent during shipping, that happens sometimes. You should be able to bend it back straight. If not then we can swap it out.

Shipped direct, so will just depend on when exactly we get the batch back and how far away you're located.
