Nineo bulbs are exactly the same for the fraction of the price Headlight Revolution is trying to sell their top of the line crap.

I'm not saying Nineo is superior to other brands but to Supernova V.4 definitely is.

I just saved few hundred dollars by switching to Nineo LED headlight questionLED headlight question

Just put mine in and I'm happy. I used the rubber gaskets from the stock bulbs and everything is good. They're hella good imo. Let's see how long they last.

Talking

Hey,

I bought the same Cougar Motor H11/9005 on Amazon too.

Installed 9005 first as they were easiest, no issues. They run fine on DRL no flickering and the brights are BRIGHT!!!

As I was running out of daylight to installed I then went for the driver's side low beam first. I figured if I could get the difficult side finished first w/o taking out battery that the passenger side would be no problem. Boy, was I wrong!

The light just would not fit in no matter what I did. I changed o rings from stock light, I watched a video to make sure I wasn't missing something random.

I put the stock bulb back in just to prove I could do it, and then continued to struggle for 45 mins trying to put this stupid bulb in. I called my husband to come out and look at it. He struggled also, until we had a EUREKA moment!

He was holding a flashlight watching me try to install the LED bulb when he saw that there is a small piece of metal blocking the entry of the LED bulb housing.

Once he saw that, he used his grinder and barely shaved off 1/16" to 1/32" of the area I circled in the picture.

You have to line it up to see exactly which area to sand down bc the tabs are different sizes.

PERFECT FIT, and the lights are amazingly bright.

Hope this helps someone else.

I’m glad they fit.....however, you should not have to grind metal off the headlight bulb in order to make them fit. Not everyone will have the tools to do so. I still think they should be made correctly from the start.

Sure, I know what you mean, but it’s a piece of metal on the 4runner that makes it not fit only on the passenger side. Eh. It is what it is.

You can buy sandpaper and just sand it down a smidge.

Personally, I’d rather do that than risk humidity issues in my headlights than by having to mod the dust cover.

To each their own. LED headlight question

Yeah that’s why I got rid of the HID. I didn’t want to mess with the dust covers

Replacement set worked perfectly fine. Weird because my passenger side fit wrong but the drivers side was perfect.

Finally got my replacement too and the weather warmed up past sub-artic so finally able to install. The replacement fit perfect and no issues.

So, word to the wise on the Katana's from Amazon. Great customer service in trying to resolve the situation but the quality control is DEFINITELY hit or miss.

For now, I'll see how I like them. Definitely brighter than OEM but not as much as XD HIDs. And since I already drilled the holes in my dust caps for the HIDs, I just ran the wiring and pack thru the vacated hole and can still use the dust caps. Of course its not water tight and hopefully they won't overheat being enclosed.

I’ve tried morimoto LEDs and the “cheap, but same as” Super Nova V4 LEDs in my 4Runner and they simply aren’t as bright as my HID kit. I never get flashed, have them aimed correctly, and am happy with the light output. No where as nice as the retrofit that I did on my last truck, but certainly good enough for now.

Second kit I’ve bought and have spent $100 total and wasted time and effort into this for headlights.

So definitely purchase this kit with caution. Like I said, one fit perfect and was aligned perfect out of the box. The other doesn’t even fit at all.
i had the same exact problem with the cougar motor led headlights,.....driver side projected great and passenger did not. I bought some philips led fog lights and now it is nice and bright.whole setup 200$

I’m running the katana kit from amazon and after a fitment issue in the first set the second set has been fine. You definitely need an adjustable beam on the light. Cougar Motor does not and they didn’t line up no matter what I did.

Yes, no issues at all. Good as the day they went in.
it is exactly same bulb as Supernova V4, same brightness , different finish with much better fitment due to matching mounting tabs used by Nineo vs standard used by Supernova.

I did DRL cancelation mod. Bought used DRL relay on eBay and bend one tab (contact). Just search for DRL cancelation.
But you can buy LED DRL module to prevent flickering if you want and keep em.

My 19 OR has a DRL position on the stalk, if I choose not to use it would there be any problem with the nineo's?

There is no problem using any LED bulbs in low beams or hi-beams. The only problem is a flickering of hi-beams in DRL position. Basically Toyota is using hi-beam bulbs and lower voltage. So when you install any LED bulb in a hi-beam they will flicker (barely noticeable but still) in DRL position unless you install LED module.
