Thanks! There's a ring in the back that screws down. It will grab the lip above the light, but the grill is smooth under the light so there's nothing to grab. It's in there pretty snug though so I don't think it's going to fall out.

I've only had them on a couple weeks, but they've held up fine after a few runs through the car wash and a decent rain storm (i.e. "San Diego blizzard!!" haha)

The iJDMTOY website has generic install instructions, but they're horrible so don't waste your time. It's very easy to wire up. The included wire was long enough to run back past the battery and through the firewall on the driver side.

I went through the smaller hole to the left of the larger grommet since it's starting to get a little crowded:

Then I used an add-a-fuse in an empty acc slot and grounded right next to the fuse box (where I imagine everyone does):

That way they turn on/off with the key. I thought about adding a switch to the line so I could manually turn them off when driving, but I really don't think I'll ever need to "black out" while driving my personal vehicle. (I have a specific work car for that! )

I have been seeing a lot of these light mods on the 2014+ 5th Gen 4Runners, but never on the earlier 5th gen models like mine (2013). Part of the issue is the grille diamonds are much smaller, so all the plug and play kits will not work. I decided to get some 3/4" smoked amber markers, and 3D printed some grille inserts to hold them, and also point them out straight since the grille is sloped back where I mounted them on the top row. I would prefer to some LEDs that aren't round, but it's a start I guess.
I am just now starting to look at options for upgrading my vehicle since my toyota warranty finally expired, so yes, I know it looks very stock up front.

I have these added to MyCart as well but what I'd like to know is that since its been 15+ months, how have they held up?

Looks awesome btw!

Sorry for the late response...it's been crazy at work and I haven't been on the forum in a little while.

To answer your question - the lights are still working great! I did end up wiring in an on/off switch a few months ago and hid the switch under the dash to have the option to turn them off if I want.

I still happy with them and they haven't dimmed or cut out at all.

Smoked or Regular Amber Raptor Lights

Hi All,

Been scouring the internet but can't find any info on the smoked amber vs regular amber comparison. Looking to install Raptor lights on my 2017 4Runner however, I don't know which to choose (Smoked or Regular Amber). Does anyone have any input on which looks better or positives/negatives of each? Thanks in advance!

Has anyone put them in the lower grill or a non pro? I just ordered a set of 4 and was considering putting them on the dl.

Baja Designs S1 pods mounted behind grill with Trigger ONE bluetooth relay to dim/strobe. When dimmed, they can act as ‘raptor lights’, but at full power they provide a significant boost to the morimoto lowbeams and fogs.

Hahahahahahaha dude this is so spot on. All those things are def so played out. I personally have the red d rings and the raptor lights. I love my country but the American flag decal is not my style on my runner and still have stock halogen fog lights but you nailed it dude. I see so many 4runners with that starter pack lollllll

I haven't seen them installed on the lower grill, but I have seen a number of 4Runners with lightbars mounted there.

My 2013 4Runner has the same grill as your 2011, so it is possible.
