Rigd Supply Ultraswing Tire Carrier

Pre-ordered the Rigd Ultraswing Tire Carrier for $888(pre-ordered price) shipped at the end of November. But I was able to pick it up today. Luke was awesome to deal with and he came in early on Saturday so I could pick it up and install at their shop.

Key features:
Black powdercoat
Fits 5th gen and 4th gen V6 only for now. Universal one coming soon.
Built in threaded holes for license plate
Built in holes for hilift jack
Built in holes for front or rear rotopax mounts
Lockable latch
4 locked pin locations when open
Adjustable rubber bump stop. Screw holds it in place. Just need to add spacers to bring out bump stop for more tension on arm when closed
Secondary pin security when closed
2in round tube to mount accessories with tube clamp
Adjustable tire carrier plate with 3 welded bolts for larger tires or increased rear visibility. Mounted by Grade 8 bolts
Secondary offset hitch for bike carrier or hitch accessory
Weighs ~60lbs w/o tire
250lbs weight capacity
Not tow rated, but can use d shackle for recovery location
Had to use my slimline lug nuts for my SCS Stealth 6 spare. The included lug nuts have a slight collar that did not work with the Stealth 6 holes.

Planned mods on tire carrier:
Rago Ultraplate - Molle style plate for the back
DIY folding camp table/work surface.
Add reflective tape
Mount Trasharoo
Mount shovel on molle panel using quick fist.

I'm interested. I like the low tire mounting so the rear visibility is not drastically effected. Do they have a website?

Almost a grand just to carry a spare...definitely looks well built, but using the stock spare location or on top of a rack for the same price, that can be used to carry several other things in addition to the spare is significantly more pragmatic IMO....Pass!

I like the idea of them... I think...But i've seen videos and a couple in action in high speed off road, wobble almost as bad as the bump steer on my stock f250

Yep, which is why you don’t see anyone running them. It’s like adding a wrecking ball to the rear end of your vehicle.

I like it. If the only negative is the possibility of wobbling during "high speed off road" then I'm excited to get one. I don't think most of us are taking our DDs to go run Baja. Nice setup, OP. Build it for how you use it

A big plus is also being able to swing out the hitch. If you mountain bike and always have the bike rack on the hitch, it's a pain in the butt getting my dogs in the 4runner (2 ~75lb labs).

I got the Kuat Pivot so I can swing my 1up rack out, but this would do the same and be able to hold and swing out my spare, hi-lift, rotopax, table, etc. too.

My big thing is not having the rear camera function anymore too, but that's with all the bumpers and spare carriers.

I clicked on this thread with minimal interest but am now somewhat sold. Wow. I have similar thoughts as @pDubs . My Kuat Pivot bike rack swingout has certainly clunkily served its purpose over the last year but this thing takes that idea to the next level.

I was pretty dead-set on an LFD or CBI rear bumper with an accessory 2" receiver added to one of the swingouts and I love the look of those bumpers, but DAMN this makes a lot of sense and solves some problems. I love the idea of simply being able to pull this off whenever I'd like to and the ability to endlessly reconfigure.

I was 100% willing to do it, but not cutting my bumper, grinding down welds, and re-angling my exhaust would be great too. I'm a mountain bike race camper and mountain explorer more than a rock-crawler anyway.

Bummed I missed the sale!!

Listen, the 1UP rack is the most bad ass bike rack that I have owned. Made in America! Lets me pivot bikes and open the rear hatch. Its got a modular design just in case something needs to be replaced. You can add additional racks is needed. Just wanted to give this rack some love.

I keep waiting for my Rocky Mounts rack to break so I can buy a 1UP haha. My Kuat got hit and run in a parking lot, but I didn't want to shell out the $$ for a 1UP. Once I used one that a friend owned, I wished I had sucked it up and got it.

My rack pivots down to open the lift gate also, but it's still a PITA when I'm trying to load something in the back. I also camp/bike as often as I can, and I have table space that slides out the back from a set of drawers I built. I love the idea of swinging the bike rack out of the way and being able to use that space without dismantling everything. Hoping to be able to mount water/fuel cans to it also.
