Bro...just do it! I used zip ties to tuck the fog light wires up under, and spray painted the washer reservoir.

Man, Crusifix, Samwhich and YellowSnow just sold me on the DIY route. Those look killer. Just need to save for the SSO Slimline Bumper to go with it like Samwhich's rig.

I struggle with this MOD. I absolutely love how it makes the truck look from the front. It looks like it does exactly what it's designed for; making more clearance for crawling up onto larger, taller obstacles. Then I see the side view and I cringe. I think a more contoured cut, leveling out more on the side so it doesn't end up so high, would be perfect.

I actually did that first, and wish I had taken a picture. It looked like hell.

i did a quick photoshop of the side profile with it a bit more contoured. I did more of a straight across cut. If I had contoured it a bit more, it might not have been too bad.

It is a literal hair above the body line.

Thanks. I'm thinking about doing it there. I like it cut higher from a front view but definitely not the side. I have not seen one in person yet, which is my only hesitation.

Still liking the look after a little while?

I didn't install the SSO mod but I did cut something similar. I really like it, I don't feel like I'm missing much by not having the SSO mod.

Great thread. I have the SSO bumper and was considering the High Clearance Kit, but thought it was a bit too aggressive for my liking. Never considered just doing a DIY cut.

Thanks for the Inspiration folks.

Wondering where you found that weatherstrip?

I looked at Home Depot and Walmart and only found weird foamy tubular type stuff.

Oh yes. Love the way it looks, and I've already utilized the additional clearance it has given me on a trail that used to catch the front edge.

SSO High Clearance

I love this look.

How did you deal with the fender liner? I assume you cut it as well but then does it just hang?

Pictures would be great if anyone has them.

thanks
