@Kenstaroni Yes the step does use stock body mounts which is fine for what anything I've done so far. I have used them cruising in the Ozark and Off Road Park local and they did their job for me.
I can understand the skepticism coming from far off and the difference in pricing. I luckily have not had trouble with any of that and can only speak for my dealings with him. The biggest problems I've had is waiting for stuff to clear customs and FEDEX delivery where I live in the boonies.

You could probably fix the structural problems by adding a few pieces of 8020 rail. I'd ask if they'll sell you just the two side rails. And then buy some pieces of 8020 to make your own cross bars.
The full length racks are only rated at 1100lb, and that's a static weight or stationary weight. These racks are not rated with a 1200lb moving weight.

You'll need to figure out the deflection of the 8020 material before you load it down. Prinsu was the first place to utilized extruded t-slot, but not the 8020 brand. Zach had the deflection calculated before releasing the rack, and selling the company to CBI. I know Prinsu was using Futura for their t-slot, but not sure who CBI is using now.

That rtack looks nice but I would hate to have to strap whatever I put up there every direction so it doesn't fall off. But I guess baskets are unpopular with the 4Runner.

You'd be surprised at how well things stay in place. I have a Prinsu on my 3rd Gen, and often haul 2 kayaks that at 14' only use 2 straps on them. I did this a couple years ago when we moved from the Midwest to West Coast.

Now I'm in the market for a 5th Gen, and working on filling my garage with parts before I even have one.

Adding to share experience with Brand..

I have the "Steps", and calling them anything else is misleading. Not "Somewhat" Misleading, just Misleading.

The price was good for a shipped item. Came with a simple black paint (1 coat). They are built well, but as mentioned above, they mount to the body and shouldnt/cannot be considered sliders in any way.

*They are much stronger than the Stock steps my 4Runner came equipped with. They could manage most trail use.

Communication was great while coordinating. Promises were made (That never happened), but I got exactly what I paid for, and nothing more. Ordered in August 2018 with a promise of 2 weeks for shipment. Got the Steps early November.

I have no regrets, but I wouldnt do it again (Because I wanted Sliders more than Steps).. So not really on them as a brand.

Keep in mind how things are unfolding over there politically. They claimed the delays on my steps were due to FedEx not shipping during that time period.

Scam

Absolutely avoid this company at all costs. I’ve been waiting on a order that totals almost $2,000 for over 2 years. My “customer parts” were done within 1 year, the additional wait time is simply excuses. Every single time I’ve asked them for an update on my order, I get the same sad story “sorry, we’re working on it” “sorry, we’ll send you free stuff my bro don’t worry” “sorry, the Venezuelan government is blocking our shipments.” I’ve been doing business with other Venezuelan companies and they seem to have no issues shipping out my products. At this point, I’ve come to terms with my loss and will remember it for a long time. Consider this a warning T4R fam, absolutely horrible company to do business with.
