@ Victory 4x4
Product suggestion: How about a weld-on swing arm that only cuts a hole in the stock rear bumper? Something like this:
my custom tire/fuel carrier build using stock bumper

Roof Rack Prototyping
Roof rack prototyping is underway!
There will be a no-drill, full & 3/4 rack option in the near future.

How to make some improvements:
Use some type of universal mount flange that sits as flush as possible to the bumper cover. It flexes so of course there needs to be some clearance where you cut through the bumper cover. But it would be great to have the option to bolt on the swing out assembly or unbolt and bolt other fixtures into the same spot. Thinks like a nice swing out for bicycles, or whatever else you wish to carry back there, or just to remove it for daily driving.
I'm more of a function over form guy. So in the interest of keeping weight down and utility high - put the tire down and on the side where the visibility is least impacted and the shortest arm can be used. That would keep the hinge forces lower and allow for lighter weight assembly. I don't think there is anywhere in the USA where you'd want double spare tires like you would in Africa or Australia, but the way Kaymar does it is the best I've seen.
Personally I wouldn't move my spare out of the OEM location. However I would like to have a swing out carrier for other stuff like fuel.

Just the other day I found myself wondering if you were going to make a roof rack.
Any options for integrating a slim light bar that won't get in the way of any cargo on top?

Yes, the front fairing will be available with or without a light bar cutout.

Will there be a final seal between the rack and the roof to cut down on noise? How wide are the crossbars? I assume the mounting brackets are steal vs bent aluminum like your competitors? I can't wait to see the final design.
I don't currently own a 4runner, as i'm waiting to see the new 2020's to come out before I pull the trigger. I've been creeping around the forums to get ideas of mods and accessories.
I'm thinking my 4runner is going to be a Victory 4x4 poster, molle racks, sliders, bumper, and now this rack.

hmmm....once that roof rack is done I might just need to buy everything you make for a 4Runner at once.

Also, I am looking for something that adds minimal height...that looks pretty low, any guesstimation how much height it may add over the stock roof rail things?

The front and rear fairings will be adjustable so you could add some edge trim and press it all the way against the roof if you'd like. The whole rack will be aluminum but the mounts will be steel. The rails will be 2" wide extruded aluminum.
Look forward to seeing your 4Runner!

Maybe 1-1.5"? I'll check when we install the final.

Really love & want to pull the trigger on 3 of those crossbars. Anyone have any link to a good lockable maxtrax or jack/shovel mount that would adapt to these Victory 4x4 crossbars??
Thnx!!

Bump.
Nothing anyone can suggest for these? Maybe more of a RTT type of rack system, or larger items? What are people throwing up there?
