I agree. I have talked with engineering about a rack-mounted ladder, but we'll see what they have planned. This project in the photo above is at the top of the list at the moment and it may involve a ladder of its own.

So I got some pics of the full length roof rack today while cleaning up the 4Runner. Still need to get the bumper and skid installed, waiting on my wheels and UCAs as I am doing a bunch of stuff at once.

Is there a 4th gen rack option for sunroof? I'm online and only seeing a full rack, covering the sunroof.

Also, when will the 06-09 low profile bumper be ready to sell?

Thanks in advance!

The 4th gen will only have a full length option but the tilt function of the sunroof will work no problem!

The 06-09 bumper should be available on the site now.

Re: weight, I ordered the Victory 4x4 skid plates (steel) and these are the wieghts:

Engine (front) plate: 43 lbs
Transfer case: 26 lbs
Transmission plate: 38 lbs

Total weight for the 3 skid plates is 107 lbs.

These things are THICK and HEAVY! I wish I ordered the aluminum version, since I don't really do any hardcore rock crawling. i don't remember if the aluminum version was offered on the website.

Delivery took about 2 months.

Love it guys!! I know you guys ride bikes, if you haven't thought about it already you should offer a hitch option for a bike rack so it too can swing out with the bumper as well as maintaining departure angles. This is a current limitation with my Expedition One bumper and from many other fabrication shops as well, they are not hitch rack friendly.

Thanks! We do plan on making plenty of accessory mounts for the swingouts. I'll pass that idea along!

If only there was something available to assist a person in climbing from that bumper to the roof rack.

@Victory 4x4

Been comparing rock sliders for a few weeks. I was wondering how your Blitz sliders hold up against hits. Over all style I think these will be the best fit and meet my wife's approval. I noticed a lot of other bolt on sliders have more attachment points and the sliders are all one piece vs bolt together like yours.

Our Blitz sliders are designed to be used as true rock sliders! These are a similar style to one we have been making for rock crawling Jeeps for years (JcrOffroad). The bolts are more than strong enough to take a hit. Our sliders also mount underneath the frame, which adds a lot of strength when taking an upward hit on the outside of the slider.

This 4Runner slid down the full length of this rock in Colorado on the slider.

Awesome, thank you!

I was debating between yours and a local company and was leaning towards theirs based off the overkill on bracing and attachment points. Looking at the overall design though, theirs look like they would at like a hook if I was ever to get caught on a rock and have to back out. I like the fact that yours sticks out past the widest part of the 4Runner the whole length of the slider basically and has a nice little tapered on both the leading and trailing edge. I also get to be lazy and not have to do full rock lights right away.
