Wire Tap Question

Wire Tap Question ....

Hi everyone.. I recently installed LED strip lights on my running boards (2016 limited). They illuminate with my turn signals, hazards and SUPPOSED to when locking/unlocking. I don't know what wire to tap into in order for them to illuminate with my dome/interior lights when locking/unlocking.

I've researched everywhere online, but can't seem to find anything. I tapped into the dome light fuse, but it then stays on all the time.

Any suggestions? Would it be the wires in the A-pillar?

Thanks in advance.

Search on trail4runner.com he has a write up on having the spod trigger rock lights. That’s where I found what wire to tap. Just don’t remember which one I hit

The dome lights are negative triggered IIRC, not positive triggered.

As stated, you could use the trigger for the puddle lights in the mirrors; that can be found on the driver's side lower kick panel - Here's a thread about that.

Here's another option, that taps into a different wire.

I definitely wouldn't power anything directly off that circuit, and instead use the circuit to trigger a relay; just in case something goes wrong with your added lighting, no point in blowing out your BCM

I am replying to an older post but was was curious if any of our experts knew if the yellow was the driver side turn signal (left) and if one of the light blue wires was the passenger (right) blinker? Would match the engine compartment coloring. If anyone has pin assignments that would be really helpful. Thanks!
