I should add, a buddies has a late 1990s Chevy Silverado/350 has over 400,000 miles, all he does is change oil and filter every 3,000 or so.

How is that "yikes", might I ask? Because it's unusual for "American Soccer Dad" to go on multiple long road trips? "He should be staying home and just commuting to his corporate office like the rest of us!"
"Only 15k miles/ year is what normal people do, gosh darnit!"
Is there some kind of good boy rule that you're supposed to only drive a little bit or certain amount?
Just curious at the psychology at play...
I've noticed that so many Americans are taken aback when someone doesn't fall in line with the 'herd'. It like initiates discomfort or something, where they have to interject these little jabs or...as millennials say...'projections'. That's how I read "yikes".
"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE NORMAL LIKE THE REST OF US AND FALL IN LINE?!?!" they scream.
I have 95k. And could care less. I think one should drive as much as they can until they can't anymore. Stop living on egg shells and in the eyes of 'what's proper' or "what others think" or "what am I supposed to do". The spirit of the 4runner, is supposed to be of freedom and unrestricted movement.
