Interesting. I feel like my AC is getting quite weak as I near 130k here. Charged it last summer and it held out but just barely. What did that repair run you - just curious in case mine is a similar story.

My friend did it for me so parts and labor was about $700. I know local shops will charge anywhere from $1300-$1500 and the dealer is about $2400. Hopefully your problem isn’t the evaporator core because that requires the dash to come out. That’s why it’s so expensive

Yikes. Yeah I know it's a big deal. Good to know the dealer cost is insane. Will probably get the AC "serviced" by a shop and see what they think. Still blows cold as of today, not as cold as I'd like though.

May it run forever

I just hit 281,000 on my 2010 Gen 5. Only issue was front wheel bearing at 90k. Just tires, shocks, brakes and synthetic oil...as soon as the Gen 6 arrives I will pass to my college age son.

Even now not a 2nd guess to take on 1000mi road trips or deep into the Calif hills.

You might have the highest mileage 5th gen on this thread?

I wish we had a sticky, or the OP would edit his or her original post so we could have a standing list.

Let us know when you get to 300k so we can celebrate with you.

2005 GX470 with 173,000; alternator failure at maybe 80,000 (no small job with KDSS), air bags at 150,000/14 years old, A/C refrigerant service once (tightened HP line fitting, never an issue since). Changed a couple of o2 sensors after receiving failure codes/unable to smog. Both cats indicated failure at different times; local indy shop performed a chemical wash that restored operation. As you may know, these cats are attached to the exhaust manifolds. Replacement options are OEM ($2000+ a piece if I recall), or a talented welder and a generic cat, plus a bunch of R&R labor. For a while, there was one aftermarket cat/manifold assembly available for just under $1000. I bought one and returned it after the wash was a success. I mention this detail in case anybody else experiences cat failure on any vehicle; try a wash! It was about $150 with zero guarantee, just a Hail Mary that worked. Both have been holding for over five years.

Otherwise, just scheduled maintenance, tires and brakes. "Permanent" ATF changed. Bought new spark plugs with thought of changing them around 100,000; pulled one and it looked like new. Still running original plugs for now. Original shocks seem far better than they should (no indication of leak or failure), but thinking about suspension mods that would eliminate electronic ride control and air bags.

Random update haha. Just did my 115K Mile Routine servicing. With my first "major" issue on hand. Apparently the water pump is leaking. Other than that, just oil, brakes and tires.

Just about to hit 148k miles on our 2014 TE. Picked it up with 1 mile on it new in July of 2014. It’s been a great rig so far. It’s needed a battery, a new stereo, camshaft connector/pigtail (my fault) and replaced the brakes at 130k. Wouldn’t hesitate to take it anywhere. Here it is on Elwood Pass from last week;

Not sure if this is the definitive thread on high mileage 5th gens but what's the highest anyone has seen on this 4.0 without replacement or rebuilds?

My local dealer had a tradesman visit their dealership to do some work and he was driving a 4runner with over one million kms on it (about 620,000 miles), original engine and transmission. The salesperson didn't know what year but said an older one.

There must be some 400,000-500,000 miles 5th gens on here?
