Anyone running Bilstein 5100 on higher setting?

I wanted to start a separate 5100 thread for those running higher settings. I did a search but most people are running spacers, and not aftermarket springs. I’m at zero with Wheelers T1/T13s, and was curious about getting a little more lift. I called Wheelers and they said that going up to the first pirch of .85 preload, would stiffen the ride significantly. I would probably have to run spacers in the rear as well, because I’m almost level as I sit now (Slight forward rake).

your picture looks very good, level ...
I did a spacer lift on my front end .. after 3K miles the front springs took a set.. so I lifted the front end up 1inch.. almost perfectly level .
also the dive reduced quite a bit on braking ..

stock height for me is good .. ya some like 6 inch lifts all around but, not a off road crazy operation ..

I have the same setup as you. I just moved mine to the second setting for the additional .85" of lift because my front end had settled and had more rake than I wanted. I also replaced the factory UCA with JBA. It's at the garage right now for alignment and inspection but I'll post a pic when it's back. I do believe that the rear will either need spacers or the T12 springs.

I ran them at the highest setting on my FJ but that was with factory springs. Definitely stiffened the ride up but nothing bad.

Your rig looks perfect. You want slight fender rake because your frame is level. People go off of fenders when they should be looking at their frame.

@YellowSnow i'm selling the adjustable front toytec springs from the ultimate kit, fits the 5100 shocks. your front to rear stance looks fine as is, add 1" to the front might be too much. these collars would allow you to dial in a precise amount of lift. just a thought.

I think @dot_tom ran a couple different setups with his 5100's.

x20, it looks perfect dude. What about some shims to get a bit more lift and no messs with the preload?

Looks and sits great. Are you thinking about adding a SSO bumper with winglets and need the extra height for the weight? Otherwise, I would leave it.

I will be running a lo-pro bumper and winch this year, so that is a concern. Maybe going up to .85 once the bumper is installed might be the best solution, and leave the rear as is.

What is your spring rate up front on your Wheelers? You may need a 700 lb/in+ spring with the extra weight if you end up going with the lo-pro bumper and winch. I would find a thread or start one that addresses the additional weight, ride height, quality of ride and off road performance associated with it if no one chimes in with 5100’s set at a higher level running that extra weight up front.

I have been running with Bilsteins at .85 with stock springs for 4 1/2 years on my 2014 trail. I have a slight rake now and it didn't change the ride improved, less wallow and lean in curves and I lost a little of the nose dive under braking. YMMV.

Doesn't look like YellowSnow will be checking back into the thread, at least not for a while.

I'm currently back on 5100s and T1/T13. Should have gone T12 in the rear. I am running 3/4" spacers in the rear. Also, I have the driver side 5100/T1 set on the second clip to offset the lean. Rides great. Too bad these springs do settle a bit and could benefit from a top hat spacer to regain the lift yet keep the great ride quality. Bumping these up to the second notch is ok ride wise.

Wow, that didn't take long. I am sure he will be back under another name so maybe this info will help him or future people searching for this info.
