Best thing to do is email/call around and see what dealers do not mark up their pros. Your best bet in getting one quick is going with a larger volume dealer as it has been my experience that they get priority on allocations. I had a couple deposits down and got lucky when one of those larger dealers called and said a deal fell through and they had one available. Took the next day off work and drove 4 hours to pick it up at msrp with no port or dealer installed options just like I wanted. You wont regret it!

My car buying tips.

Donít be afraid to walk away. Thatís your best tactic.

Call around to several dealers and get price quotes. Use online services to increase your reach. Get a burner gmail and google voice number for services like True Car and Costco Auto Buying Program. When you eventually sit down with your sales rep to hammer out the details, youíll be able to use the lowest quoted price as a trump card.

Get pre approved for an auto loan from a credit union or other bank. The dealer makes more money if you finance through them, so they may give you a lower sale price if they think they can make up the difference in the finance office. Donít mention the pre approval until youíre in the finance office (bring a letter/check from the bank with the details).

If you have a trade in, a common sales tactic is to give you a lower price on the new car and low ball you on the trade in. Negotiate the sale price first, then talk about trade in and financing.

Of course, a lot this conventional stuff goes out the window when youíre buying a TRDP. Be sure to call several dealers, look into buying out of state, and walk away if you donít like the terms.

Good luck!

Excellent. Thank you guys for your suggestions. I'll be doing more research and hopefully get my hands on one of these.

Is it me or is that an exceedingly long wait? I put money down on a pro my dealership wasn't allocated on Sept 12th and mine hit port on November 18th.

It is a long time to wait. My local dealer in St Louis warned me that it would take some time to get the vehicle. I'm enjoying the process and kind of hoping it arrives in early January so i don't have to pay personal property tax in 2019. In the wonderful state of Missouri they don't prorate property tax.

Does anybody know exactly how many AG 4runners they'll bring to Canada/US? I can only find 2 in Canada on Autotrader but that site is not representative of how many are actually for sale. Judging by posts here and what my dealer said they seem pretty rare. I feel like I got a bit lucky.

I think I seen someone answer this already but I can't find the post.

Not a ton of help.. but I know of 3 owned in Alberta already. My dealer said they only way they were getting any in is if they were pre-sold/deposit paid, so right now that could be why its tough to find one listed online. Most are still waiting for their initial deliveries..

finally!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I've only ever participated in this thread on these forums, so I'm going to post my new 4R here.

After a delay of what seemed like forever due to requesting a dash cam, I finally picked up my 4runner yesterday, just in time for Thanksgiving.

I'm loving everything about it, nothing in particular stands out as a massive flaw that I'm going to have to get used to, it's all pluses for me. Although, it's hard for me to complain being that I have been driving a '76 Datsun Pickup for most of the year.

There is an unsold Army Green 4Runner at MSRP for sale at a dealership in St. Louis. Please PM me if you're interested and I'll pass along the contact.

I honestly love my Toyota/Fujitsu dash cam.

Make sure to go to your WiFi setting and connect to DASHCAM WiFi.

Go though camera manual, itís should be very straight forward.
