That's not a 4runner gauge cluster, look at the redline. That is likely a diesel model from another country.

While the redline is a good catch, this is the photo that Toyota just showed at their press conference in Chicago referencing the "redesigned tachometer for TSS-P in the 4Runner."
I assume the redline might have been some strange oversight, but I bet this design is what makes its way into the 2020.

Interesting. I'm heading to the Chicago auto show this weekend (wife and I's annual valentines day trip) Breweries and auto show. I'm hoping they have them opened up and able to see inside this year.

Awesome. Keep us posted. I assume they will have the 2020 4R on hand but heavily tinted and probably locked... see if you can snap pics of that new dash and anything else inside that might have changed.

If it's anything like last year, it will also be flexing on rock and on a stage so you can't get too near to look inside. Hope that's not the case though. I want to take a good look when I go.

Maybe they can install a Pedal Commander on all 2020 4Runners to make people think it has more power than a 2019.

I upgraded my 2010 tacoma with an Alpine 7" wifi touchscreen with Apple Car Play and my only complaint is the lack of a quick and easy way to turn the sound down. The volume buttons on the radio are push button and very small. I can also use the steering wheel controls to adjust volume. It takes far longer to turn down the sound either way compared to the original volume control nob.
Other than that minor complaint the new radio is 100 times better than my Tacoma's original radio. I'm thinking about installing one in my 2019 4runner.
If you change out your head unit to touch screen you may likely find yourself reaching for the non existent volume control nob for the first couple weeks.

Going to cancel my order/deposit on my 2019 TRD Pro which was supposed to be at Port on 2/13 and at dealership by end of Feb/early March.
Army Green is my favorite Toyota color. And I'm looking forward to the new Car Play/Android Auto. The rest of the features are just bonus to me.
Hope they don't increase the price too much... !

Multi-terrain monitor would be dope, and a better cluster screen.

My fear is that they are going to just put the 3.5 from the Tacoma in the 4Runner which I hate. I'm buying a 2020 for the sole reason of it still having the 4.0L.

I paid my 2018 4Runner TRDOR last year, but I’ll contact my dealer to put a deposit on a 2020 Pro if it’s Army Green. Love love that color and would back into a car payment for it. Sounds silly, but there’s other features like push start and apple CarPlay I’ve been wanting, too.

Maybe they are realizing the 3.5 would be a mistake so they are doing extra R&D to upgrade the horsepower and improve gas mileage on Gen 6. Perhaps this is the reason for the delay. Who knows. Or maybe they are spending a lot of R&D developing the 6th Gen 4Runner and new FJ simultaneously.

My local dealer told me that Toyota had pledged to offer hybrid versions across their entire lineup, including trucks and 4Runner, by 2025. I would imagine any updates to the 4runner would happen closer to then.
Wouldn't be surprised if we saw it in a new version of the Tundra sooner than that though
