First of all @Veet&Kuh, in my opinion those White Pros look awesome. Second, I think without the puddle/signal mirrors (I added to mine with help of @Oldred) and blind spot monitoring there is very limited benefit to the added "safety sense" which would be limited to adaptive cruise on long freeway road trips if that's your thing and the one in a million saving you if you don't see a something right in front of you that you are about to hit.... but the tradeoff is the freaking lunchbox strapped to your front end which I feel seriously degrades the look of the Pro heritage grille.
Then for the infotainment, I just posted a page or two back that unless you are all about the apple/android phone integration, you really aren't getting much of an upgrade and nothing over 2019 JBL which all are trumped easily by investing $500 - $2,000 in a super nice audio upgrade to your current system... AKA OE Audio+ like mine.... Lastly the Sunroof, oh the sunroof.... This almost kept me from buying the '18Cavblue but thankfully I did because I love the color. I always have had sunroof in my past rigs and thought it a must. I even considered having one cut into the roof of my Pro when it was days old... BUT after just getting to know and love it, I actually don't miss it and like the extra headroom in the cab which is a very real thing especially for your back seat passengers. I sat in a '19 pro and the sunroof is nice but it is SMALL. My wife's jeep has one of those panorama roofs that open up to the sunny sky completely and the 4runner sunroof by comparison is almost not worth it being so small for the headroom you give up.
Personally I still will say the army green is a really cool color and if anyone thinks the color alone is SO cool OR the android/carplay that they give up their recent year Pro for a 2020 then OK can't argue that subjective preference, but I can't understand why anyone thinks these other tweaks nullify the coolness and especially the front visage of these Pros before 2020.
Cheers - JC

Seeing the TSS on the front of the Tacoma TRDP's, I dont think its actually that bad. Yeah its noticeable, but certainly not the monstrosity it is made out to be.
My choice was looking at existing inventory '19 Pros vs 20's, and I felt the upgrades and color were worth waiting for with the small upcharge. (Didnt care for Voodoo, so it would be a white '19 vs a Green or White '20. I have a deposit down for a green 20.)

Ok so, I keep reading variations of the "freaking lunchbox strapped to your front end" in regards to the new 2020 grille, but man it seems like a stretch to call it that.
I've seen the TSS-P on the front of my buddies Cav Blue taco, and it's made of a clear material that matches the grille design and blends at certain angles. I'm hoping the 2020 4R will also have that.
But with the current videos / photos available on the net I haven't really been able to get a close enough look.
Also, i have a 2020 Army Green on order at Rodland Toyota in Everett Wa. Sold my 91 Diesel Cruiser to get something more modern and I'm really excited for it.
(not sure why my pics aren't showing up)

Unfortunately, 4Runners do not get blind spot monitoring.

In your case, this certainly makes sense.… butI would also wait to see the sensor on the front of the 20 Prorunner in person because it is not like the Tacoma and the grille of the T4R Pro is totally different. ALSO - Don't forget implications of that sensor box for anyone wanting hidden light bar or possibly some winch setups which will interfere with that.
Cheers and enjoy! JC

Congrats and hope you enjoy it! Very possible it's not that drastic, but even in the pics you shared, the Tacoma is done way better and that black box on the T4r interrupts the heritage look in my opinion. STILL the 2020 Army Green color is super cool and if Cavblue didn't exist I would probably ignore the sensor and buy Green the same as you..... or at least wait to see if they came out with Cavblue in 2021 assuming they hadn't already in 2018.
Cheers!

Right - that's what I said and without it the TSS is less of a cool thing in my opinion. I can not for the life of me see why Toyota hasn't put side mirrors with signal/puddle and BBSM on the '20 Pros since they added the frontal TSS. Doesn't compute.
Cheers

White is cool. But everyone has white. Something about having a limited color that not everyone has is cooler to me. I genuinely love the army green as well. Uncle had an army green FJ and that was love at first sight and I always wished that Toyota would put it on their trucks someday.
A bigger screen is mainly what I like in the infotainment, as it is clearer, with better graphics. Apple car play is a nice plus, but I don't need it. I have had trucks with sunroofs and without sunroofs. I like having one, especially when driving around at night. The TSS-P is not something I desperately need, but it is nice to have handy when you are on long road trips.
I mean, I do not have to justify my purchases or reasoning to anyone (Except for wifey lol), but overall I think an Army Green Pro Runner would be a great investment for anyone. Great SUV, holds value like crazy, and the limited edition color makes it so that you can drive it around for years, put mileage on it, and sell it back for either a profit, no loss, or VERY minimal loss if at all. Who can say "hey I bought a car, used it and drove it around for a few years, and sold it back with no loss/making a small profit". Most ppl lose a few thousand right off the bat when they sign the paperwork and drive off the lot.
All in all, I am sure it will be a beautiful Runner. I cannot wait to see official photos of it. And, maybe, just maybe, I will be lucky enough to grab one for MSRP if not slightly above sticker at most. We will see though.

My guess would be that Toyota couldn’t add the BSM radar module behind the rear bumper without a significant change to the area. It was probably more than they wanted to invest.
To me, TSS-P will be like air bags. Glad to know it’s there; if I never actually see them in use, all the better.

Found a cached (recently deleted) photo of the new Sequoia in Army Green. Seeing it in a photo is much better than the rendering from the Toyota website.

The slight overexposure and the reflected daylight really bugged me, so I threw this pic into Lightroom and adjusted it to WHAT I BELIEVE is a more "normal" photo. Maybe I'll try to 'shop the color onto a 4R when I have time over the weekend.
