Finally the 4Runner gets TSS-P. It has been long over due.
I’m more interested in the new 8” screen with Apple Car Play.

If you check Toyota's Facebook or Instagram posts its filled with people, mostly 20 something's that cant even afford a car but demand more tech. Some posts imply they trade cars because entune isn't any good or that another make has more tech.
I'm tech savvy, I had iPhone at launch and my wife had the first android but in the car I could care less and we drive 600 miles a week each. Reality is people want this tech but they never use it.

So true!! Lol haha. Millennials complaining not enough tech on the Toyotas but can’t even afford a brand new car. 🤦*♂️😬

Because Toyota didn't show it in any of the press releases

I didn't read anything about the 4r getting TSS and the updated infotainment, just the Sequoia and Tacoma did I miss something?
And I'm not surprised the 4r didn't get any love on the LED headlights, they're going to save it for the 6th gen me thinks.

Yes, you did - it's in their press release (which centers on the Sequoia TRD Pro but mentions some details about all models):
"The 2020 4Runner TRD Pro is distinguished by a new grille design, as the lower section houses the radar sensor for Toyota Safety Sense-P (TSS-P), which is standard for all 4Runner grades for the 2020 model year."
2020 Toyota Sequoia TRD Pro Opens Path to Family Adventures, Leads Charge for Updates on all TRD Pro Models | Toyota USA Newsroom
It also says the 4R TRD Pro will get updated infotainment with an 8 inch screen but doesn't specify the screen size for the other trims.

The Tundra, Tacoma and 4Runner TRD Pros will all rely on an 8-inch touchscreen, while the Sequoia TRD Pro will feature a 7-inch touchscreen. In addition, all grades of 2020 Sequoia, Tundra, 4Runner and Tacoma will utilize this updated audio system, though screen size may vary between models.

Agree to disagree on this. I had Push Button Start and Smart Entry on my 2016 Honda HR-V (Yes, I should've known better from the start) and HATED it. My first day owning it, I unlocked the car from the passenger side, put my purse in the seat, and walked around to the driver's side and the car had locked itself. Had to have my husband come home from work to let me in my freaking car, because it'd locked everything but my cell phone in it.. and wouldn't sense the key.. sitting inside the vehicle.
When I was searching for the "perfect" car, a keyed ignition was a MUST. I love the simplicity of the 4runner, and even safety sense is a big no-no to me. Again, driving a Honda with Safety Sense, I went to get off the highway but because I didn't turn my turn signal on to get off the highway, it sensed me departing the roadway and jerked me BACK onto the highway.
Give me my archaic 4runner any day

That’s interesting (and unfortunate) that you had that experience. Any modern luxury car we have had won’t allow you to lock the key in the car like that. I don’t believe the current 4Runner does either.

According to Honda it's not supposed to be able to do that either, but the Hr-V (for me, at least) was riddled with problems from the word go. Shortest period I've ever owned a car. In my opinion, though, I learned a valuable lesson. Reliability is FAR more important than fancy tech, especially on a vehicle you want to keep forever.

I just realized... Still no turn signal mirrors for the pro? Is there a reason why?

What do all you guys do that need more tech? I get in my vehicle turn on AM radio or stream Tidal from my phone and drive from point A to point B. The only thing I do is turn the volume up or down and answer the occasional phone call. Occasionally use the nav, which is pretty good.

Lmao what

Use this tech everyday. Progress can be difficult for some people I guess
