I'm with you brother, I'm still hoping that Toyota knows how to surprise us. We don't know what we don't know until we know, right?

Given that it’s pretty clear any other unannounced enhancements are unlikely, if they made LED fog lights standard, I’d be happy. I didn’t even realize they had added them as an OEM accessory this year.

I’m also hoping there will be additional enhancements to the Limited now that some of its features have spread throughout the lineup (Smart Key, auto dual a/c, JBL).

Not quite sure what that chrome/white bar on the off-road model is for, as you can see from this pic it has the same radar monstrosity that the pro has in the grill.

Meh, seems like a waste of the 50k you'll have to spend to get one.

I like all the new gee whiz features. Hopefully, some are backward compatible that we can install on our old vehicles.

Honestly, the only things i would want is that head unit for Apple CarPlay and the TRD exhaust.

Definitely interested in hearing more about the TRD exhaust.

The Rav4 I'm driving right now has Apple CarPlay and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why everyone acts like this software is the second coming of Christ...?

All 4Runners get an 8" screen

SR5 Premium, Off Road Premium and TRD Pro now have Smart Key

Some nice shots of the new head unit... it seems flatter against the bottom part of the dash, vs the current one which sticks out a bit.

If adding it (and Android Auto) shuts up all the whiners who have constantly complained about Toyota holding out on supporting it, it’ll be worth it.

I’ve used it in rentals and it comes in handy for navigation purposes, whether you’re using Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze. Many rentals lack factory navigation, so it’s nice to have CarPlay support (which a surprising number of rentals have).

The main day-to-day obstacle for me will be having to connect via USB to use CarPlay. As much as some folks like to trash Toyota’s own infotainment software, I think it works fine, particularly with Bluetooth streaming. I jump in, switch to Bluetooth, and have full access to playlists.

For comparison, I took the Tesla Model 3 I’ve been considering on an overnight test drive. I was surprised at how lacking it was in the iPhone integration department as far as music. Stop, track forward, and previous track. That’s it. No CarPlay support. And no built-in music streaming unless you get the full Premium interior. Other things made me lukewarm on the Model 3, but this didn’t help.

Which brings up one other advantage of CarPlay (and Android Auto): both Apple and Google are continuing to update their software, so it should get better over time. Contrast that to Toyota’s Entune (and most manufacturer’s software, excluding Tesla) — what you start with is pretty much what you’re living with forever.

Holy smokes! As ugly and and misplaced the TSS sensor is on the 4runner, I'm actually glad I'm waiting for the 2020 model. The fact that its STANDARD on a car that will be driven around LA ~90% of the time and it'll be a huge help with all the not-so-experienced drivers around me! I am curious at how annoying it'll be off-roading, but hopefully there's a way to turn it off when not needed. My other concern is whether or not aftermarket companies will address the issue of the sensor on future low pro bumper updates.

In terms of the Infotainment, I'm also a bit lukewarm about it. I've driven my parents old siennas(1 2015 se, 1 2012 limited) and my only gripe was how dated it felt/looked. It worked as intended nonetheless. And the smartkey is just a nice little cherry on top. There's been too many times where I've nearly dropped stuff trying to fish my keys out of my pocket while carrying things.

Now the question is: when will Toyota release it for order??

FYI a Canadian order sheet leaked on Reddit, and there's a new trim called "Venture" that's just all the TRD Pro appearance items on a base TRD Off Road (wheels, predator tube steps, roof rack).

This trim will be offered in the US as well, allegedly along with a trim called "Overland", which I have no information about. I'm trying to confirm if it even exists, and if it does, what it offers in comparison to the rest of the line-up. A user on this forum posted last month that these two trims were new for this year, and I've finally been able to corroborate at least the truth behind the "Venture" trim.

2020 4Runner Preliminary Ordering Information : 4Runner

Let me know if you guys find anything else out about this trim.

Only Toyota would be stupid enough to make the Limited model 7 passenger only. SMH.

If they really do this then that will remove the limited from the list of next possible vehicles for the wife.

I have no use nor do I want a 3rd row at all.
