Yeah I was thinking the same thing. It cost me 5000 to have my black 19 Z06 fully clear wrapped with Suntex.

Congrats on the new 4Runner. If you don’t mind posting how many miles were on your 17 Pro. What did they give you for trade in. Thanks.

Please tell me it's not Toyota of Bellevue that quoted you that.

They're the worst. I'm struggling to find a good dealership on the eastside.

No.. Bellevue wants to charge 2.5k over but you get tube steps, tints, and the film protection. The 8k price gouge was in Marysville.

Hoping to pick up my 4Runner tomorrow or on Monday. It left Portland today and should arrive by Sunday morning. My contact said he might be able to get a service tech in on Sunday to program the keys/remote, etc and check the car in. If not, at least I'll be able to watch the Seahawks game. #gohawks

I'll post photos as soon as I get it. I've been waiting for my AG TRDP since February! And they've had my $3K deposit since January when I originally placed an order on a 2019 Super White TRD Pro.

Sweet!! Post pics ASAP!!

I'm registering in Snohomish County. For WA residents buying a car out of state (like sales tax free Oregon) and then registering it in WA; then yes, you would have to pay sales tax, registration, licensing fees, based on your home address.

However, if you're buying in state, sales tax for vehicles is based on city/county of purchase.

There was a discussion about this in one of my earlier threads. See post #60 here by @docsnavely :
Waiting for 2020 TRD Pro - should I buy Gobi Roof Rack now?

Also, see this from an actual car salesman in Washington State, verifying that tax is from the city/county where you bought the car from: What is the sales tax of a car if I live in Seattle, but buy it from another county in WA? What if I buy it from other states? - Quora

Foothills Toyota website even has a banner on the top of their website promoting the lower 8.5% sales tax:
Attention Required! | Cloudflare

Anyway, just talked to my contact and the 4R is still not there. He'll give me a call as soon as it is and ready to pick up.

I sold my ‘17 over 1.5 year ago to a private party for almost what I paid new.

Best State To Buy New?

Ello everyone! Are there any states that are historically better to buy a new TRD ORP or TRDP?

I've generally been happy with them from the service and sales side.

Their sales tactics are pretty typical but you can negotiate with them. It's kind of annoying having three levels of sales people trying to make you feel bad asking about fair trade-in, but they seem to be willing to make you happy if you're ready to walk away.

Finance department is same as everywhere: say "no" to everything and the finance guy's mood turns south, but whatever. I've never seen any different kind of personality with finance guys.

The dealership itself is super nice so I enjoy getting the service taken care of there.

I bought a VW, and later one for my wife in Burlington (Karmart?), along with a Kawasaki from Skagit Powersports. Any way to save a few bucks. Always head out of the city, unless the deal is too good.

Wrong, If you are buying in state unless it is private party you pay the tax in the tax jurisdiction that the dealer is in. The reason people don't go to Portland is you'd have to pay tax in your residency jurisdiction when you go to license it in Washington

Agree, but I bought my last 4runner (7 yrs. ago) just outside of Portland proper. Couldn't find one up here that wasn't overpriced, so taxes didn't mean anything. Nobody up here would even deal, so I said screw 'em and went south. Worked out great and I'd do it again if the deal was good. Plus it was a nice little road trip. Drive one 4runner down, drive another back. Can't ask for more....

Michaels Toyota in Bellevue was always overpriced by 2-3K (because it's Bellevue) and Magic Toyota in Edmonds couldn't be bothered to even accurately give a quote based on what I wanted (40K for a base SR5, yeah no thanks).

Just cross shop all of them, and make them beat each others prices.

Did you try Toyota of Olympia?

Yeah that's what I'm hearing. Interesting as I was looking at a lot of this during my last purchase but I'm guessing everything I was seeing was referring to out-of-state purchases.
