Frozen caliper - NAPA remanufactured

2012 Limited w/ 110k miles. The salty winter roads in Boston claimed another caliper. I was replacing front pads + rotors and found one of the pistons on my original calipers was frozen/seized. After reading other posts I decided to go with NAPA remanufactured calipers (no affiliation) over OEM ones mostly due to cost. NAPA charged about $100 each, vs OEM at the dealership being $480 each. I did find OEM's online for $280 but needed to be back on the road fast. The brake tubing was also rusted solid to the caliper, so I had to cut and replace those as well (P/N 47317-60131 Tube Front Brake No.7).

For anyone that finds this post in the future, the NAPA calipers seem like they're decent quality. Unless I update this post, you can assume they're still running strong on my 4Runner.

Looks great! I used a Napa rebuild caliper on my 4th gen and it was perfect and a better value than OEM.

These are still OEM calipers, just re-man'd by NAPA, right?

That seems to be the consensus in the forums.

these napa calipers are toyota used .. probably from a scrap yard wreck..

you must use silicone brake grease on the caliper piston boot and the slides..

I still have the same calipers on my 1996 and 2000..
when you rotate tires you do the brake inspection...in spring do clean and lube if we get the nasty winters.

Actually remanufactured by Cardone, branded as NAPA. One of the only Cardone products I would consider buying.
