I like how they look - not glaringly aftermarket and the execution is nice and clean. They could be OEM in appearance, which is the look I usually like (OEM+).
However, as a person who currently has Philips HIDs and is primarily concerned with light performance instead of light appearance, just not sure these will be making their way to my house.
I appreciate Morimoto’s investment in the fifth gen though.

That's what light bars, and fog, and a-pillar and roof lights are for! ;)
I'm in for the OEM+. Execution (aesthetically) is spot on. I personally will sacrifice some lighting performance... Form > Function I suppose.
Glad someone said it. I LOVE my 50w Morimoto drop ins. I had a relay go out, and ran the stock bulbs in the rain for a day. Honestly felt like I didnt even have my headlights on compared to the HIDs. If these are a step down from that, no way Jose.
Although..... Meso on TW swapped the LED units in these for M-LEDs and got more than 4x the output. Not sure I'd order $1200 lights to sacrifice as a donor housing for more expensive LED projectors, but that actually tickles my grunddle a bit. I mean, if they're that powerful, negates having a ****ing $1500 lightbar in the grill, so I mean....
Well, that's one advantage to purpose-built LED lights right? Not burning out ballasts every other month?

Brands are another point. I've read for years about Morimoto quality being OEM-like and they're allegedly the best of the best. However, I burned through 4 HID sets in my Rav4 over 3 years and finally started asking around for help/referrals because it seemed like something was wrong. I talked to a lot of people - including qualified installers - who basically said, "Yeah... Morimoto quality isn't as good as it once was. We are seeing more and more issues like this."
When I bought my 4Runner, I went for Philips and I've never had so much as a flicker over 3 years.
Are Morimoto's LEDs better quality than their HIDs?
Personally, I'll be getting them because I love the look, they will be miles better than my halogen setup, and I will be upgrading from 10-13 style bumper to 14+ bumper with these headlights.
Seeing how nice the C6 Corvette XB LED headlights came out while owning a C5 has made me want these even more.
As long as these have noticeably better light output than the OEM halogens, I'm down for sacrificing some $$ for them. They look stunning and are less expensive than Kustom54 so hopefully they'll be up to snuff.
