LED's are great for those that live in temperate climates.. but they still aren't the best for those that need the additional heat from OEM/halogen/HID setups to melt snow/ice from extended runs on the freeway during a storm.

If this is the case what about vehicles that are coming factory with LEDs? What do they do differently?

Count me in... Looks like a worthy mod on the 4Runner.

If I can brainstorm out loud, I assume the Acura rl/mdx/rdx and the likes all have headlight washers
Chances are, not many are on the road during snow storms.
Mostly leases too (maybe only 50% have snow tires), so if it's gunked up, they'll take whatever they have and start scraping the shit out of them. Next guy's problem.

Okay but imports aren't the only ones coming with LEDs now days. Look at your GMC/Chevy trucks, Tacomas, Tundras and many more I'm missing as well. No of these come with washers of any kind.

Depending on timing, I would definitely be down for getting in the group buy, assuming I don't glance over it (like I usually do)

We started using LED lights in our snowplows in our fleet a couple years ago, and ran into that very problem... not warm enough to melt the snow and ice. But recently the industry is developing heated LED bulbs for that very application. I'd be surprised if that isn't what is coming from the factory on the stock LED light systems.
I'd further suggest that washer systems aren't going to work unless they're heated as well.

Interesting... Give that final product very close scrutiny, in fact I'd run them through a winter where the facia / lexan is getting pelted with typical winter debris, also see how they stand up against 100deg sun, harsh UV exposure. Compare the thickness of the plastic in the final product, how optical clarity is maintained.
I'm hopeful too but have seen so much out of Taiwan or elsewhere that sure look like OEM Porsche, BMW, Mercedes lighting (typically products that make your older gen model look current) which quickly yellow in the sun, have poor UV coating that fades colour even chrome, poor alignment of LED's or the illumination is only good at one angle, and lexan / plastic whatever that just can't cope beyond the showroom with typical temperature extremes (sealing issues, spider cracking etc).
Won't be an early adopter but it has my attention for sure, wishing / hoping for the best!
By the way - are you maintaining distribution in Canada as well on your product line or is it all going to the US? Cause typically - I'm sure you know, we get killed with additional import fees never mind the current exchange rate

XenonDepot will be the first to offer these for pre-order in the US. While it's a bit too soon to say, we think they'll start shipping around mid-summer.
They'll have triple LED based projectors, a full white LED daytime running light, and a amber sequential turn signal. PWM DRL compatibility of course, and completely plug n play on our trucks.
Estimated cost to be around $1000-$1200/set, all in!

**subscribed** These seem pretty nice, and a nice upgrade from stock.

Yeah, LED's do generally run much cooler than an incandescent or xenon setup, so most vehicles with OE LED do have washers to clean the front of the lights when its snowing out. But these dont run completely cool, each projector has its own die-cast heat sink, and those will definitely get hot when the headlights have been on for a while - so the ambient heat inside the housing will certainly be far more than the outside temps when its cold out.
We'll keep everybody posted with updates as we have em though. Right now the best ETA we have is sometime in June this year.

There’s just one flaw in this theory, the DOT is not going to approve any headlight system is not safe at all driving conditions.
