@ XenonDepot
Don't really wanna air dirty laundry in public but no one ever responds. I've sent pm's, emails and nothing. Today I get an email stating case closed due to lack of activity. That lack of activity was Xenon depot. Been a few weeks, still wanna offer a store credit?

Funny how there was so much hype for these and how quick that hype has died.

So the question is, did the people who did the first orders and got the "test units" know that they were plunking down 1200 bucks for a test run? And I agree, the hype sure died off after people realized that the side cutoffs were so bad

I didn't, and the vendor never advertised it as such. Not sure how members on this forum came to the conclusion that we were buying test units.
I think some members misinterpreted some of xenon depots statements about welcoming some end users feedback for future development and came to the conclusion that they were being beta testers.

The real question is: Is the side cutoff still better than stock? Or does stock lighting beat it in that scenario?

I think it’s the same as stock but hard to say since I went from hid to these led housing.
It’s bad if u r not use to it. I’ve gotten use to it since owning it and rarely drive with my fogs. However I am mindful of that cutoff when there lots of pedestrians around n turn on my fogs if I need to.

Maybe they've gotten their letter from NHTSA already and are trying to get all their info together for a recall.

Like I told everyone in an earlier thread or in this one, having someone like this in the forums is like having a cancer. Sure this clown started whistle blowing the second these came out. It's people like this that run off vendors and kill forums.

Xenon contacted me today and their was confusion in the emails. The ticket they closed out was an inquiry I had during the purchase phase. I learned that answer in this forum and forgot about it.
They also gave the credit due. Thank you Xenon!

Units were not marketed as beta testers at all. Morimoto produced 50 units before they went to production to see how it goes. We all know how that went. Over the phone Xenon told me these were test units prior to production. That was not conclusion it was stated fact by an employee whom went on to say Morimoto would correct the side cutoff in future production.
Xenon came online and said that employee was mistaken. Said they have no intention of stopping production because R&D would take far too long on top of remaking I think he said the mold. I would search for that post but mobile search sucks

As a follow up to my earlier posts since I only had experience on Seattle residential streets:
I drove to Astoria, OR this past weekend where I was driving in the dark on unlit roads through the forest and the lights performed wonderfully. Absolutely, without a doubt, 100% better than OEM halogens.
Again, the side cut off is a noticeable thing from the drivers seat, but I never felt that anything of importance was unlit due to the cut off, including cross streets and intersections. The areas that can only be seen through the front side windows showed as much light coverage as the OEM halogens, but much better lit. It's just an area that doesn't really matter, so I don't quite understand what all the hooplah is about, especially from the people that haven't actually even purchased them.
High beams performed very well in the dark sections as well, equal to or better than OEM.
And as always: my disclaimer is that I came from OEM halogen lights, not HIDs, so my view is only relative to OEM lighting.
I'm perfectly happy with the purchase of these both in aesthetics and performance. And no, I'm not the type of person to praise a product just because I spent money on it to save face. I don't give enough of a **** about my own ego to care that much. I just think "reviews" from the people that haven't actually tried them are irrelevant. Luckily, that's what RMAs are for.

Wanted to get some updated impressions from people on these. Everyone who kept them still liking them? And did anyone ever take a before/after of the side cutoff from stock to these?
