I'm not sure anyone ever did OEM halogen to XB comparison photos. However, I'd say dot_tom's post here is an accurate representation of the pattern. The only difference is that the perspective from the camera isn't where your eyes will actually be.
For example, in my driving position with the seat nearly all the way back being 6' 1", the light pattern extends out into the side windows from my view while driving.
And yes, I still like them a lot.
edit: this is probably close to the light pattern of the OEM halogens but just at a different color temperature: https://www.toyota-4runner.org/3335547-post338.html
So you can tell that you definitely lose some side scatter, as to whether it's significant enough to be detrimental to performance is subjective, as can be seen by the handful of opinions on here.

I also wanted to add, I still like them a lot.
If you are ever in the PB, point loma, or mission bay area, you can pm me to check them out in person.

A fellow forum member reached out and asked for some daylight pics on my limited. Here are a few. Sorry for the pics being rotated.

Looks great! Almost makes me want a nightshade. Afraid I’m stuck on silver at this point. Thanks.

I love the jewel led eyes look but as far as output, my stock headlights/fogs with led bulbs have better output than these. For $1200, I would hope they matched the Oem output for a factory Lexus/Toyota with Leds.

You might be the first person to say they are only as good as OEM.
I feel that everyone says they are way brighter than OEM, but not as bright as aftermarket HIDs.

These are much brighter than the OEM headlights. I remember driving home on my overnight test drive in my 4runner thinking "are my headlights even on??".

I meant I am hoping they are as good as an Oem Lexus vehicle that came with led headlights

Mine are being installed next week, and I have never had HIDs so I hope I only have upside surprises!

Since I've posted a few updates on these over the past couple months, figured I'd give another one after my trip out to the Washington coast which, with winter showing up, lead to a lot of night-driving out in the pitch black boonies.
So I installed the "matching" Morimoto XB foglights a couple weeks ago and had them on just to see if I noticed a difference in combination with the XB headlights.
I was towing my 3000 lb travel trailer but I've got a weight distribution hitch so the 4Runner is relatively level when towing, but obviously it's still got a little rear sag. With the headlights and foglights on simultaneously, I was getting high-beam flashed by literally everyone including someone in a lifted pickup truck. Big yikes.
I turned the foglights off and for the rest of the trip I was only getting flashed by small cars. Unfortunately, I'm not sure what you're supposed to do when towing is, by default, going to change your headlight projection. I'm sure as hell not going to adjust the headlights every time I tow something.
I don't think that scenario would change anything with HID bulbs in the projector housings; I'm assuming it would only make it worse to oncoming drivers. I couldn't believe the fog lights were that blinding though seeing as I have them aimed waaaay low and they're supposed to be DOT approved and able to run without blinding people. So that was kind of strange. Can't imagine what kind of light output those crazy Baja fog lights give out if these are that bright.
I also pulled into a little loop off the main road to check the map and I definitely realized what everyone's complaints were about. I could not see the edge of the roadway in the little loop out the side window as I drove around it. So if you're encountering that situation frequently based on where you live, I can understand why these would make you uncomfortable. I didn't think to turn on the foglights to see if they filled in the gap since it was already pretty late and I just wanted to get to the campsite.
This isn't a huge deal to me since 97% of my driving is in the city and I can generally compensate when I'm out in the sticks and that was really the only situation where I felt like I needed better side lighting, but it wasn't exactly a dangerous situation.
I am concerned about getting flashed while towing, but again, I have no idea how to alleviate that since any headlight is going to blind people at a certain angle under loaded-down conditions. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
