Help with light bar mount for Gobi roof rack

I recently installed a Gobi Stealth roof rack with the light bar cut out on my ‘18 4Runner. I also ordered a 42” X6S light bar from Extreme LED to mount in the cut out. The Gobi comes with a mount for a 40” Rigid style bar. My problem is that the Extreme bar has a side exit for the wire which doesn’t allow the light to fit the bracket. The wire exiting from the side gets in the way and doesn’t allow the light bar to fit in the groove so it can be screwed to the slot in the bracket since the screw hole and the wire exit are literally right next to each other.

I know some of you are running this same bar so I’m just wondering how you mounted it. The stock mounts that come with the bar don’t work either. Hopefully someone has a solution.

And before someone comes on here and rips me for not searching know that I have. Extensively. And I still haven’t found the answer to my question.

Thanks in advance.

While I don’t have this light bar(I do have the Gobi stealth), I would say your best approach is to find or make some small brackets that would extend the mounting holes out so that you can meet them with your light bars. Even small metal brackets found at home depot could work if you drill holes on them.

I'm confused as why you'd order a 42" bar for a 40" spot? Can you return the light bar and get a 40? I just ordered the 40" Rigid and it fights great.... as others have said, you may have to get creative and make some custom brackets, if it's worth it.

I like the Extreme LED bar. The X6S is the slim version of the standard X6 bar. It has an amber cover on the lights on the outside edge. I’ve seen other people on this site running the same bar although with a different roof rack. I figured someone on here may have the same setup or ran into a similar problem. Guess I’ll just have to get creative.

Did you ever find a solution to this? I picked up the same light bar, but 38". Running into the same issue you had.

Help with light bar mount for Gobi roof rack

I also have stealth rack w/light bar option. Can you post pictures of the 38” and 42” mounting issues. Did you ask extreme LED for brackets?
