Raingler Cargo Ceiling Net FAIL Turned to WIN
***UPDATE on top pf Pg. 2***
On 1/22 I placed an order for a "2010 - Newer Toyota 4Runner 5th Gen (N280) EZ Install Cargo Area Ceiling Attic Net" from
@ Raingler_Nets
hoping it would arrive before my trip scheduled to depart tomorrow morning. To my excitement, I received a notice this morning my order was out for delivery! Once it arrived, I quickly went to work getting it installed before I pack up for 4Runner for our week long trip. My joy abruptly ended 5 minutes into the install.
Here is what's posted on Rainglers website...
And here is what I received...
The net sags considerably in the center when it's cinched all the way tight and the forward-most attachment straps don't even reach the front grab handles as shown in the product description.
I checked my packing slip just to make sure I ordered the right net, and the last time I checked my 4Runner was a 2010 5th gen...
...All looks good on my end.
Sorry for the rant... I'm just really disappointed in having to spend nearly $200 on a cargo net for the ceiling plus having to wait nearly a month for it to arrive, only to receive the wrong item. This is my first purchase from Raingler and everyone else seemed to have positive reviews; just my luck I suppose.

Can't tell exactly from your photo, but I think you might have it installed incorrectly, or you received the wrong one. Try reaching out to them directly to confirm.
IIRC the front-most straps need to attach to the front grab handles, there's ones about 2ft back that attach to the rear grab handles.

I agree, it's definitely installed incorrectly. I think it might be oriented wrong based on the stock photos. The mesh with the straps that form an X is towards the rear in the stock photo. The OP has the crossed strap section towards the back seats. Also, the whole net is waaayyy too far forward. Look at the stock photos and you can tell the net should be behind the rear headrests. The OP has it hanging over into the rear seat section.

I say wrong application. It's much too wide.

I double-checked my installation the the "X" pattern is definitely to the rear. I installed the rearward straps to the d-rings that were supplied with the net. There two forward sets of straps, one set for the back seat grab handle and the other set for the front seat grab handle, and they are sewn in right next to each other. The stock photo shows them much further apart. The strap for the front seat grab handle doesn't even reach it. Since I ordered the "Extended" version, the net is supposed to cover most of the back seat ceiling, including the light, as shown in the second stock photo I posted.

Raingler is excellent in regards to communications. Shoot them an email with a link to this thread. I've even received answers on Sunday afternoon.

Raingler sent me the wrong net when I first ordered. They were quick about getting me the correct one, but I can’t say much good other than that. I have yet to see an actual customer install that looks anything like the photos on their site. I got the divider net between the second row and cargo areas to keep dogs in the back. There’s enough room between the net and the roof for a Mastif to get by. They have good ideas, but execution is poor.

Definitely looks like the wrong one based on website photos. I am sure you are frustrated since you are hitting the road before this can be resolved.. Keep up posted on how the correction goes.
I hate when things dont go smoothly, but I find out more about a company when things do go wrong.

I just finished my Raingler full ceiling net today. The install was A LOT harder than I anticipated but the end result was fantastic. It took me about 3 hours of cursing to get the hardware installed. I'll see about posting some pictures of the end results in the morning.

I just installed this same net (floor to ceiling) and am a little disappointed considering how much I paid. I wound up installing the forward attachment point; the net is virtually useless as a dog barrier without it. I was able to tighten everything up so there isn't too much slack. The net will keep my relatively tame dogs in the back, so it works for what I need. Just wish I hadn't paid so much $$$ for it...
The installation of the "forward attachment point" was far more stressful than I anticipated. Turns out the videos didn't really break it down enough for me. I lost a trim clip on each side and was terrified I would destroy the trim on my new 4R. Ironically, it wasn't drilling the holes which made me nervous...
All that being said, it is still a high quality product. No issues with materials or craftsmanship and I'll certainly benefit from installing it. I just had my expectations set a bit too high!

Thanks all. Sorry Joesrcool for the frustration, not what you'd want on the eve of a trek certainly! All over it. Didn't get any notice of the error but the mentions on the forum today. Hopefully can get our PM and get it rectified on trip or return.

Hi
@ Raingler_Nets
!
I just rolled back in town early this morning. I replied to your PM with my order number. Hopefully I don't have to wait another month for the correct ceiling net.
Thanks!

Next time, try contacting the company before blasting them on the interwebs. Mistakes happen, and a good company will make it right, without having to deal with this crap.

Typically, I would have. However, since I was on my way out of town the very next morning, I wanted to get this posted to share my experience. As it turns out, there are other members who had similar issues and several others who advised
@ Raingler_Nets
would make this right.
I didn't post this to bash the company and I have full faith they will correct my order in a timely manner (already received a return shipping label). Hopefully they will read the other concerned comments in this thread and address their issues with order fulfillment accuracy and product descriptions.
I agree with what others have said, the product does appear to be of extremely high quality. I'm looking forward to receiving the correct product.

Though I would likely take your approach to solve the OP's issue, the vendor is an advertiser here after all. And the OP's rant is not baseless. What's the saying? Live by the sword, die by the sword. Vendor's take the risk of their mistakes, quality and customer service publicly coming into question on this forum. But this forum also provides the vendor a chance to publicly make it right in front of potential customers. The interwebs indeed.
