Dirty Dealer – Zone A Passenger Air Bag Recall

I generally try not to nit pick on aesthetic and cosmetic stuff...

I went in for a Zone A passenger airbag recall, and noticed this a few weeks later on my passenger visor after a passenger mentioned it. I really wish I noticed it sooner but I don’t carry passenger often. Annoying how little other give a hoot about your car.

Would you guys even bother to try and get the dealer to remediate this? It really isn’t worth my time, I can just try and clean it myself, but it’s the principal of it all that rubs me the wrong way.

That’s sloppy work sir and I would take it to the manager or president of the dealership. They could ruin the color if done improperly. If that were one of my staff members I would want to know about it and remove the mechanic from my staff. Just my 2 cents.

You're not nit picking when it's something as egregious as that. Take it back asap.

Holy crap, back when I was at the dealership something like that would be grounds for packing your tools up and getting the f out.

You gotta be shitting me!
If it was just the visor i'd have it replaced and be done with it..the headliner is the ball buster. I doubt they'd be able to clean that without discoloring.

I do not think you are being nit picky based on those pics.

My nephew works at the dealership who just did mine he uses surgical gloves when he does them to make sure no grime gets on anything.I would go back there and snap if I were you but since it's been a few weeks not much you can do but just clean it up yourself.

I think you're going to have a hell of a time getting any recourse if you noticed this weeks after the work was done.

I would just go buy some carpet/rug cleaner spray..I use an oxy clean carpet cleaner to clean my overhead liner and mirror the other day and it works great. Its not worth the hassle going back to the dealer for something like that.

you don't even have to be a neat freak to that that's just plain freaking sloppy work and unacceptable..

but I'm kind of with @joshoowa it's not really even worth going back to the dealership with it..easier to clean yourself...

maybe take some pictures though and send to the service manager with a nice email..

I'd take it back just on principal. That is completely unprofessional. If you dont trust them to do the cleaning then I would argue for them to pay a professional detailer to do the work.

Agreed with others, I would definitely take it back as well as send a strongly worded email to their service manager. I *****ed when they dumped oil all over my brand new $300 Odyssey battery and fuse box, I certainly would complain if they did that to my interior!

I reached out to the dealer via voicemail and email... ill update if/when I receive a resolution.

Hopefully they are willing the take care of it. It really is disappointing that I even have to deal with it.

Looks like the oil change guy done your air bag. That's uncalled for.

If the tech was that sloppy I'd want someone to check the rest of his work.
