no you cannot put them in the rear. The rear bump stops connect to the frame w/ 2 holes. Most aftermarket/universal ones are single holes. The companies that make true upgrades like timbren cost mucho dinero.

I'm currently running toytec extensions on my rear OEM bumpstops, and man, do you feel it when they bottom out. This is more of a bandaid than a true upgrade.

Hello,

James here from Energy Suspension.... very cool to see forum members making their own adaptations!

Something to look for in the future, this is still a little while off, but the new Rockflex bump stop is going to be available for 4Runners around the end of the year. It's a progressive rate bump that will give you the same rate as an MCU bump at first, then gradually stiffen up. You won't feel a hard hit, rather, a smooth engagement.

We have already released the bump for the Jeep JL, it has a molded in metal washer base that will allow you to use it with almost any single-bolt application. We have plans to release it for Toyota later this year, but early adopters have already fitted them to the 4Runners.

Part number has been released, but I'm not at work right now. I'll have to post it later. It just barely arrived to market.

Here's a video from the SEMA show for their debut on the JL.

The very next adaptation of this part will be a Toyota IFS version and a rear two-bolt adapted version. The kicker will be the new rear coil bumps featuring rock-flex, that will fit 3rd-5th generation 4Runners.

We also already make high-articulation 3-piece rear arm bushings for 3rd and 4th gen factory arms, I've got approval to bring in a 5th gen to our facility for R&D sometime this year.

I managed to get hold of some of the JL prototypes, lobbed off the top of them, then tested them out on my 3rd gen IFS at the Hammers with great results. Can't wait to get an IFS specific version to market!

Yeah I was aware of that brand as well but was looking at cheaper alternative solutions. I never felt my rear bottom out before so I didn't give much research into a rear bump stop set.

Make it affordable and it will sell like hotcakes.

For thise shopping around, I'll add that Wheeler's Superbumps bump stops have been good with me so far. For rears, Icon hydarulic bumpstops are the way to go, but $$

You know I never realized that this thread was in the 5th gen sub-forum. Can’t really tell when you are on the app. Anyhow, will this work for the 4th gen Runner?

I believe they will. If someone can compare Toyota parts numbers we might be able to confirm.

Or just order it and let us know.

Cool

They are 2.5 inches tall. I would say it would benefit any type of extra lift. I'm not sure how these would fit for stock suspension though. It was stated earlier the stock bumps are 1 inch tall, I threw mine away and didn't measure them, should of.
