I'll be interested to hear how this turns out, as I have what sounds like the same Toytec setup on the front of my Pro (Baja spacers/spring perch at the bottom, and spacer above the strut).
I was surprised at how much stiffer the Toytec Pro lift made the front end (spring pre-load = lift).
I'm considering a set of 6112 14x3 600lb coils too, and hope that they provide the same lift, smoother ride, and enough beef for the SSO slimline bumper and winch I'm installing soon.
Thanks!

I figured you had probably switched out tires pretty quick. Worth a shot, thanks!

Yes I was. My brother now uses the profile since he drives a Corrado. I have not been on that website since late 90's.

OEM TRD Pro front coils - hmmm, $80 obo?
With all these people copying my lift...lol jk jk...but for real, I guess I'll post the first set of used TRD Pro coils for sale 3x13". I did this back in the late summer/early fall last year and I love it. I added another small spacer to the front though for about another inch of lift and am running OME 895's in the rear to match.

I was seriously considering this 6112 coil as a lift option, but I remembered that Dobinsons had canceled their project for a 600lb 14x3 coil on the stock TRD Pro strut.
I wanted to do some more research, because the last thing I want to do is destroy a perfectly good shock for no reason. After digging through the Dobinsons thread, I found out why they canceled the project. All quotes are from Dobinsons Mike, a well known suspension guru here on the forums.
Post #1071: "Just because we can make a taller and stronger coil for these struts doesn't mean we should, so we have to test the product, and also watch the market and see the demand. The 1" lifted coil is a very minor upgrade, but the 2" doesn't leave a lot of down travel in the struts, and historically, struts left riding with minimal down travel end up topping out repeatedly until the top seal blows."
Post #1140: "They're not even recommending any coil [Bilstien] other than stock on their struts. Look here: Broken Bilstein 5100 FrontS I know they're 5100's and not Pro/6112 Struts, but still."
Post #1244:"We didn't get that far to check the down travel. I don't think the struts are strong enough to handle the extra lift."
There were a couple more quotes that I lost in the frenzy of open tabs. Whoops!
I don't think Dobinsons spent a ton of time doing in field testing (a few months on a couple vehicles according to the thread) with the 14x3 HD coil, but they are suspension experts, so I take their word. However, nothing beats testing the real deal. I'd love to hear how everyone's shocks are doing after several thousand miles of testing.
At the moment, I think I am going to hold off on the 6112 14x3 coils due to the comments made by Dobinsons, but I would love to be proven wrong by folks actually running this setup!

From the research I conducted, your shocks from the TRD Pro are the same shocks as 6112 shocks. The only difference that I heard is 6112 shocks have multiple settings where as TRD Pro coils are preset to the highest setting. I have never compared the two in person so I cannot say my statement is 100% true. Just the research I did. I guess time will tell how my vehicle's suspension will perform. As of right now it drives awesome. Also, Eibach is looking into making coils for TRD Pro for higher load.
As far as Dobinsons, I was under the impression that they were going to make a longer (15 inch) coil not just change the load. This would make the coil 1 inch longer than 6112 or 2 inches longer than TRD coil without changing the load. 6112 14in coils only will make your vehicle go up a inch plus change the load which gives our vehicles a approx. extra .75 of lift over a stock TRD Pro. Again, I am not a engineer or a professional mechanic. I am just a normal person whom is try something different. I believe this setup will function well and it will be tested out this summer.

I tried to find out whether or not the 6112 shock and TRD Pro shock are the same as well. All I could find are some rumors and peoples hunches. I saw somewhere that the TRD Pro shock is not adjustable (which is obviously true), but has different valving. I do think they are the same shock body width (60mm), but I am not sure about the length. Unfortunately, there aren't any definitive answers floating around the forum.
I am sure that this setup will work well, it's just a matter of how long before the shock blows (if Dobinsons comments are accurate). Wheel your truck this summer and post up your impressions/results with this setup. I hope Eibach makes a spring for the TRD Pro so there is some more research and answers on this subject. I am far from an expert myself and find myself learning something new about suspensions every time I log onto this forum. Just doing the research before modifying!

I'll be putting on my 6112 coils on my Pro in a couple of weeks. I'll try and get some extended and compressed measurements on the stock shocks. My guess is same basic shocks but machined adjustment grooves and slightly different valving.

I’ve read that entire Dobinsons post and Speedy is correct. The coil they bailed on was the 15” or 2” over Pro for the reasons you are referring to. They did stick with the 14” or 1” over Pro version but it maintained the #520 not the #600 of the 6112 coil. It should be noted that in my research that Eibach does make the 6112 #600 coil but they just don’t sell them on their own.

Ok, that makes sense. I combed through the thread myself (a couple times) and missed that is was a 15" coil with the stock 520lb spring rate.
I'm curious if the Eibach/Billy 14" coil with the 600lb spring rate is worse for the strut than the Dobinsons 14" coil with 520lb spring rate. You are getting an inch more lift with the 600lb coil!

So I have found out a little more information. I asked Mike from Dobinsons himself what he thought of this setup. The correspondence is below. Looks like it should be a good setup without worrying about blowing up the strut!
My Question:
Hello Mike,
I followed the Dobinsons thread pretty closely when you were developing the TRD Pro springs. I was pretty disappointed when the 2" coil project was canceled, but I know you are out to make the best products available keeping the customer in mind. Given that you're a main resource for suspension needs in the 4Runner community, I wanted to hear your thoughts on a newer TRD Pro spring setup.
A lot of guys are buying Eibach/Billy 6112 14" x 3" coils with a 600lb spring rate and installing them on the stock TRD Pro strut Here is the thread for your reference. This is achieving 2" of lift in the front. I know you canceled the 2" TRD Pro lift project (15" x 3" coil) in fear that the strut would top out and blow out the top seals. Do you think this 6112 spring will do the same thing? I am interested in a lift, but obviously want to maintain a reliable suspension setup.
Regards,
Andrew L.
Mike's Response:
Hi Andrew,
I think it will probably be ok. The 6112 and the TRD Pro actual strut are the same I believe, except they came with different coils, and they don't have the notches cut into the body of the strut to change the height. Guys have been doing that change for over a year now and I haven't heard any serious issues.
Mike.
