Nice tie downs. I struggle with the stock d-ring cargo setup. Always wish I had more tie-downs

Thanks.

Camped in the truck for three years and usually had to re-strap everything once or twice on rough trails. Much more options now just need more straps.

Nice work. I like your anchor points and where did you find the cargo netting? Raingler. Clean and practical setup you have there👍

Hi Everyone: We have another option for an integrated platform, sleeper and drawer system for the 5th Gen 4 Runner. This was meant to slot in between the cost of the more well-known brands and the DIY options. Happy to provide more details! *most recent photo updated dec2023

Thanks for the kind words! We have been working over the years to improve the fit and finish, and are happy with the results.

Happily! So this is a modular system that allows you to configure specifically what you want. Starting with a simple storage platform, adding drawers individually or together, the sleeper and the 'beauty panels' on the face of the drawer allows you to dial in the right functionality/spend for your application.

System bolts into the vehicle with absolutely no modification needed. Drawers are on ball bearing slides with a lock open/close mechanism.

The wings on the top/side provide access to a separate cargo area, providing a great place to stash the less-used gear that won't end up in a drawer.

THe main panels are made with a CNC, creating high precision finishes and allowing recessed hardware for a clean install.

Damn that's a slick solution, I like it

Is it this:
SS1 - Platform - 5th Gen 4Runner
– Air Down Gear Up

and 2 of these:
Drawer SS1 V2 - 100 and 200 Series
– Air Down Gear Up

and 2 of these:
Beauty Panel for SS1 Drawers 5th Gen 4Runner
– Air Down Gear Up

For $2,150 + shipping?

It looks like it should weigh less than goose gear, which I like, but isn't that similar pricing to goose gear if you buy during a sale?

Some random initial questions:

- Are the legs wood or extruded aluminium? I guess - is it all wood or is there metal in the platform?
- How is it attached to factory cargo? It LOOKS like it's just resting on legs on the product page
- Does the "sleeper extension" just sit on top of the platform or does it go somewhere when not in use?

That is correct! We also offer all of that bundled into what we call the 'Premier Package' which offers a bundle discount. With that taken into consideration, this will come in well below on the pricing. We just released the Beauty Panels on the 5G4R, so we haven't had the chance to update the website, but we'll have Premier Package pricing up soon.

This system is also pretty simple to install/remove, by far the easiest in that regard from what we've seen on the market.

legs: these are extruded aluminum. Weight was a key consideration for us, we really wanted to minimize weight, so the light weight aluminum legs save considerably over wooden 'uprights'

attached: secured to the vehicle d-ring via turnbuckles. these are deliberately set at angles where they all 'oppose' each other, so when tightening them, everything locks into place. You can shake the vehicle by shaking the platform

sleeper: this is a pretty slick application for the 4runner. We originated in the landcruiser (am i allowed to use that word in this forum? haha) world and the landcruiser seats fold in such a way the sleeper just rested on top. For the 4runner, we had to create a structrual mechanism that allows the sleeper to sit on top of the platform when not in use, and extend and support the sleeper when in use.

I've attached a few pictures to clarify

Ah yeah, the fridges are tricky to accommodate. Depending on how often you'd be using the sleeper it's possible you could install the sleeper in the 'deployed' position only when needed without much difficulty. The sliding mechanism is attached under the platform and wouldn't interfere, and the sleeper is attached to the slides via only two screws.
