Bilstein 6112's for 2019 4runner same as 2018?
I called a well known 4 wheel drive shop and asked them how much they charged to install 6112's on my new 2019 4 runner.
The response I got was "Bilstein has not released 6112's for the 2019 model year". Am I missing something here, what has changed from 2018 that could cause them to say that?
Isn't it common sense that what fit on a 2018 will fit on a 2019?

They went to the Fox shocks in 19 but since that kit replaces the complete CO then shouldn't be any reason it won't fit. Unless for some reason the top hat is different.

And that's only the TRD Pro model that changed. No change in the other models.

Yeah I realize they switched the PRO's to Fox.
I have 6112's on my Tacoma and love them so I wanted to put them on my 4runner.
The person I spoke with at the 4wd center said they could not install 6112's until Bilstein officially tells them they will work.
Nothing changed on the vehicle from 2018 to 2019 that would impact the install.
I'm surprised that they won't take my money.
I'm also surprised Bilstein hasn't come out yet and said the 5th Gen 6112's will work on the 2019's. It's a carry over just like the last several years.

I would buy the 6112s online and take them to any shop to be installed or get them from wheelers offroad already assembled and do it yourself.

So you agree there's no reason not to purchased 6112's for a 2018 and install them on a 2019?
I'm sure I can install these. When will I get the chance is the real question.lol

There so much liability BS with everyone suing for anything. They are not going to say it fit until they have verify it themselves. That would be my guess anyway.

Understood, I guess I would do the same thing.
But since I like money I would have confirmed they fit on 2019's in 2018.
Someone with a 2019 4runner living near Bilstein's shop in California should hit them up and see if they can be the test vehicle. Free 6112's would be the reward.

Agreed I would have also but can you imagine the backlog someone like Bilstein has. They make shock for probably 90% of the cars on the planet.
Yep I'd hit them up if I could for sure.
If you are comfortable with compressing the springs I'd say grab a set and throw them on. If not get them already assembled from Wheelers. Good luck.

Yes sir I would agree with that, aside from changing suppliers for the TRD Pro suspension nothing changed for 2019.
Haha, I hear ya. Finding a full day off to do anything seems impossible sometimes.

I made the purchase!
Now let's hope the weather warms up and dries out on the coming weeks.

One of the few reasons I love shift work. Those random weekdays off where everyone else is at work or school. My "ME" days.

The 2019 model year has not changed anything regarding mounting the suspension. The 6112 will fit the 2010-19 Model all the same
