Owners with JBL - Have You Replaced Dash Speakers with Improved Sound?

I know there are discussions of people with non-JBL replacing dash speakers for better sound. However, I am curious if those with JBL systems have replaced dash speakers and have gotten improved sound while still using the factory JBL headunit and amps? If so, what speakers did you use? In what ways did the sound improve?

Thanks in advanced!

Seems the Subaru Tweeter upgrade is popular as it is plug and play and a nice difference in sound. Otherwise, that's all I can really share.

Anything is an improvement over the paper cone garbage that comes stock. I've replaced the speakers in my 4Runners both JBL and non-JBL and it always made an improvement in sound and quality by swapping out to better speakers

I replaced my OEM speakers with OEMAudio+ speakers. Much better sound. thy have speakers for both JBL and non-JBL 4Runners. 4runner - OEM Audio Plus

They also have a staged approach: just the speakers, or add subwoofer, or add amps.

Not really an audiofile.... BUT, I replaced my front dash JBL with some of the things recommended by various members. They were equally worthless.

I ended up going back to the JBL's after a months because I couldn't get used to the "new" crappy sound in the dash.

I actually tried replacing all of the t4r speakers with the taco tunes upgrade. (not made for JBL units BTW)
Went back to the JBL 6x9's in the front doors after about 2 weeks.

The rear doors and hatch speakers on the other hand were improved by the taco tunes upgrade.

Swapped out my JBL dash speaker for these:

JBL GX328

Not night and day difference, but noticeably crisper and can handle more power.

Replaced the dash speakers on my limited with infinity reference. I have mild hearing loss and couldn't hear the words of songs at any level. It all just sounds like muffled noise to me. Once I changed out those two speakers, I could hear the vocals to the music I play. It brought a big smile when I could clearly hear the words.
