Just because the look cool. Most people don’t know but there’s two styles of finned resis from king. Short fin (these ones pictures and what you see on most every build. and long fin (the ones you see on racecars. They’re usually more grey in color). These short finned resis don’t really have any cooling effect on shock fluid when compared to the long finned ones. It’s more for aesthetic factor. Regardless the small amount the emblem covers would not have thay much effect anyway in our applications. We’re never getting the shocks hot enough. But you do notice on the larger finned resis the king logo is painted onto the fins in white usually instead of having this emblem.

Front end updates. Compete kdss system has been removed, new skid plate, and modified the C4 fab bumper for a bolt on bolt off bar with 4 LP6’s on a single cannon plug and 12 point hardware. Michael Cox took care of all the fab this time, you may know him from the hoonigans YouTube page. Came out suuuuuper clean.

Looking good! Can you say how much the KDSS removal was?

I actually did that part myself. Took me about 2.5 hours cruising (I’m a bmw master technician so may want to factor that in) I could see shops charging 3-5 hours for it

SMP did something similar with my buddy Hudson’s truck aka my fraternal twin (his is white, but has literally the same everything part wise down to the GFC). You’ll never see any of our stuff at kibbe.

Baja Runner Long Travel Build
Dude what’s your ig? I need to follow you lol. I’m @flt_llc
Pretty much want to build something like this but will build all my own. I just finished my rear links up the other day. Going for a boxed lower look. Tubed upper since you can really see them. They are just prototypes for now anyway. Waiting on Kings now.
I have so many questions for you man. But I guess really my main one is the kdss. Just unbolted everything ? Unplugged electrical connection and that’s it? You didn’t have to get anything cleared with some scan tool ?
I’ll start a thread for my guild here soon. Just got permission to post since I’m new around here.

you can unplug the connector under the driver side door. it'll just pop a KDSS light. everything else works fine. After that you can unbolt the pistons/endlinks and its all outta the way. I'm sure he actually removed it all tho. His IG is lame, BMW this, BMW that i kid.
jake_russell_ lol

My name on insta is jake_russell__ 2 underscores at the end haha. Most of that stuff on their is racing stuff. But it’s still pretty cool to see. I removed the entire KDSS system (lines, sway bars, unit, etc) it does throw a light on your cluster. But I took it apart and popped the light out so I don’t see it anymore. Feel free to ask any questions on here or insta.

So I’m new to the 4Runner platform but have actually built some trucks and even race trucks. Since you set your 4Runner up for high speeds. Are you pulling your abs fuse when playing around? Thx.

Pretty much. I have the ABS and traction control system on a switch. Just flip it when it’s time to get rowdy haha.
