That looks super interesting, but honestly I would already be happy with one of those hinged things you had on the rear window of minivans in the 90's.

ordered a driver side gullwing..mainly to replace a theft related broken window. Might as well use this opportunity to upgrade the driver side, since there is no blind spot anyways. Now thieves have one less window to break in the future.

I did my install two weekends ago. I wasn't familiar with how to remove windows, so I found someone in our local Toyota group to help (his full-time profession).
We had the both glass panels out and gullwings installed in just under 2.5 hours. Having a second person hold while you drill, align bolts, etc. helped out a ton (I'm keen on dropping everything).
I took the opportunity to sound deaden the inside and cleanup some wiring with the inside taken apart.

im not too terribly happy with these doors. They did not pass the car wash test.
It initially leaked pretty bad, so I had to add butyl tape and silicone around the frame, and that fixed water leaking around the frame.
After I fixed that, it leaked through the locking mechanism. It's not terrible, its just drops of water, but enough to annoy me. I don't have a fix for this, due to how the latch is facing downward, causes water to pool in the locking mechanism. other than putting on some tape to cover it or greasing the shit out of the key hole or locking mechanism area.
I don't have issues with sound or vibration coming into the cab though. So very meh on this purchase.

LOL. Just buy butyl tape and follow along the inside edges of the foam tape. Not sure how to fix the leaky lock though. The lock leak isnt bad though. The water saturates the locking mechanism, so you will see water run down the inside, window stopper/arm lever and it drips. Maybe 2 or 3 drops through a automatic car wash.
My window frame leaked cuz whoever put the foam tape on started and stopped on top, left of window and had a gap in the foam at that top left corner, and thats where the water comes in due to driving and gravity. They should have started on bottom right of window, and use one continuous foam piece with no breaks in it...but they didnt do that.
I put butyl tape behind it and that fixed it for the most part. However, I'm a paranoid person, so i added silicone to the other side of the foam tape. No leaks now around the frame.

Man sorry to hear about that. I really wanted these things to be water proof.

Yeah, butyl tape is easy to find at home depot in the roofing department. I think its 6 dollars for way more than you will ever need.
i have the rago with the gullwing, it works okay. I have 3 medium pouch that contains:
1. ARB tire repair kit (in a molle pouch)
2. ARB tire inflator kit
3. Winch controller.
i mainly stuck it there, mainly for theft prevention. When people look into the car they don't see nada because the black molle pouches hide well in between the gullwing and the rago panels. It did also free up way more space on the rago panels in the cargo bay.

I hadn't considered sound deadening them based on clearance to the inside molle panel, but it's not a bad idea. I've yet to finish a bunch of projects, so I haven't driven since installing them, so I'm not sure how much road noise I'll hear through them.
