Question Baja ladder - black nuts/bolts?

Has anyone located/used black nuts and bolts for the bottom of the Baja ladder that are visible? If not, is it because the ones it comes with are more corrosion resistant than the black ones would be and it inst worth the hassle of corrosion?

Black oxide stainless fasteners is another option:

Black Oxide Fasteners | Stainless Steel Nuts, Bolts & Screws

Yes, but not a very good option. Black oxide's resistance to rust and corrosion is mediocre at best.

The fasteners are stainless steel, with a black oxide coating. They wont rust, and a little oil on the coating once in a while will keep them looking nice.

I'm sorry, but several of the common alloys of SS used in fasteners does indeed rust.

I've used these before for the license plate on my Tacoma and they began rusting within a couple months. It doesn't help I live near the ocean. I'll probably just tape off the surrounding area and lightly paint the remaining silver that is exposed.

I replaced the hardware on my Victory 4x4 roof rack with powder coated stainless screws from Route 66 Mods and they did an awesome job. They tighten up without damage to the powder coat and look amazing. Not cheap, but I think they’re worth it.
