I installed Bilstein 5100's in my rig, along with Bilstein springs. every time I go over a bump, there is a clunk coming from them, both sides. I have them at 2", yes they are assembled correctly, and its a KDSS model 4runner. factory UCA's. any ideas?

Hi all! Going to go for a 1.75" front / 1" rear setup. Pretty much settled on the 5100's for the shocks and front lift, but I'm still debating on what to do for the rear.

Can anybody chime in on if going for new coils over spacers is worth the extra money for the rear? 1" spacers are $100 or so, and new coils would be about double that (looking at Dobsons C59-505, ~$190). I don't do super serious offroading, but do occasionally find myself down some rough trails.

Any other recommendations would be appreciated!

So I debated putting a spacer in the rear but in the end decided to pay $190 and purchased a Dobinson 1” spring. I wanted to completely change out the stock suspension and the wife really liked the teal springs. Will install them today. I also decided to purchase the front Dobinson 1.75” spring as well. The 4Runner doesn’t see much off roading so can’t help you there. But as a Jeep owner, we always say, don’t fear the spacer

All of the Rear Bilstein 5100's received have been shipped.

The Rear Bilstein 5100's, Part #33-187174, continue to experience manufacturer stock delay.

Bilstein is working to hard address inventory levels on popular 5100's.

We have received limited quantities the last 2 weeks (50 and 40 respectfully) and
hope to see more this coming week.

We are still seeing orders come in for the Complete Sets and will continue to do our
best to get these processed and shipped as soon as possible.

Your continued support is much appreciated - Thank you so much!!

Please let us know if you have any questions or want to explore other suspension options.

Thank you,

Customer Support

I am pretty set on getting 5100s on all 4 wheels. I'd also like to do a 2.5" in the front 2" in the back and I am wondering. Is there a difference in ride quality and performance between adjusting the struts to achieve the height/using OEM coilovers and setting struts at 0"/replacing OEM coilovers with 2.5"front/2"rear?

I am looking to level the 4runner and give it a lift but don't know which route I should go.

I bought my 5100's from TotalautomotiveLV a couple of months ago. I finally got around to installing with my Dobinsons a few weeks ago.

Great transaction, great pricing, fast shipping. But with confidence from these guys.

I had 5100's on my '02 and loved the ride. There is so much improvement on my 5th gen's ride. Braking, cornering, articulation etc are all better.

i'm excited about eliminating nose dive and cornering roll, but how would you describe going over sharp bumps / pot holes with the 5100s vs SR5 stock?
