I have a stock 2018 ORP with KDSS and 24k miles. I would like to improve the ride, reduce nose dive, and further reduce body roll (KDSS already does a pretty good job reducing body roll).
I’m leaning toward doing 5100s at all four corners, stock height setting, and leaving the stock springs.
Should this reasonably achieve what I’m after?
How long do the stock springs typically last? I assume there is no reason to replace them now. FWIW, I don’t regularly transport anything heavy in it.
Finally, and possibly most important, should this setup be safe from the dreaded KDSS lean? Stock, I don’t have any noticeable left-to-right lean.

2012 TE with kdss. I have Put around 90k miles on 5100s left at stock height on stock springs. The ride will definitely firm up. I’ve never noticed a Kdss lean that was anything to be concerned about.
I have 180k miles now And honestly the ride is still fine. I am however putting new suspension on very soon. I will be going with something other than 5100s though. Not that they’re bad, just looking to either swap in Pro suspension or a Dobinsons setup.

The Bilstein 5100's will definitely improve your ride quality and comfort.
Typically you do not need to replace the coils, unless adding aftermarket weight.
The Bilstein 5100's are Ride-Height adjustable up front. They come out of the box at the OEM setting, but can be adjusted for a more level appearance. Upgrading the front coil may be option for providing more support against the Noise Dive and Body-Roll.
Every build is different, but usually if you do not have a lean now, then no lean after install. If you do have a lean now, then you may still have a lean after install. This can be resolved or minimized.
Hope this helps.

Question
I have a 2020 4Runner Limited and am looking at these.
So if I want to level out the front, it looks like you set it at the first coil for the .85" lift?
If I do that, will I need to get an 4 wheel alignment done after?
Thanks!
Todd

Yes and yes. At least that was my experience.

Skip the spacers if you have the money for coils.

Definitely would rather do coils than spacers. Was the rear exactly an inch lift? Trying to get rid of the factory rake.

Before
RF 20”
LF 19 3/4”
RR 22”
LR 22”
After
RF 21 1/2”
LF 21 3/4”
RR 23 3/4”
LR 23 3/4”
So 1 3/4” is what the rear went up.
Still a bit of Rake, but I like the stance.
