Tapered wood block inserted into cubby. Ram Diamond screwed into end. USB is used to keep power up while driving/using bluetooth.

Phone mountuss

I have always used a ProClip mount in all my vehicles. (proclipusa.com). They are sturdy, no magnets, cutting or drilling, and can be removed when you sell your vehicle with no damage to the dash. They come in two parts: part one is custom fit to your vehicle, part two is custom fit to your cell phone.

I went with a Tackform + RAM solution. Very solid since installing a few months ago; one-handed operation is nice too.

I really like this idea, especially because it's a non-permanent solution, but I use that forward cup holder way too much (and I realize that's my problem lol).

You could even paint that black to have it blend in more, if needed.

ICS Fab

No one a fan of the ICS Fab setup? I haven't bought it yet, but plan to pick up the ICS Fab mount setup. Includes all plug and play, doesn't block clock on the dash and gives you an eye level view. Yes, it is pricey. I should have jumped on the Black Friday sale and saved $40.00, but that's another story. It does require a bit of drilling, but it looks like it could have come from the factory. Really well done, from what I've seen, and has very good installation instructions.

Mine arrives this thursday. I'll be mounting it up with a ram mount system this weekend. Will report back.

ProClip has holders and mounts for the iPhone 11 and 12 including the pro max. They are sturdy. I have never had a problem with my iPhone 11 mount. My iPhone 11 is in an OtterBox Defender which makes it a big bigger and much heavier than the phone by its self.

In my opinion, they look good too.

I have the ProClip attached to a ram ball and arm. Has worked well until the bottom clip decided to give. Still recommend it though.

Dude, get the proclip. I have mine and it works great with my new iPhone 12 pro max.

Hi - I completely agree with your location choice for the phone mount... I want to mount in the exact same place...

Can u kindly snap a close up picture of what that mount looks like WITHOUT the phone on it?

Can u also post an Amazon link to buy that particular Scosche Magic Mount?

Thx!

Have it and like it. My setup has been tweaked a little bit but you get the idea. I ended up bolting the single ball to the side of the mount vs underneath for better clearance. For some reason, my radio was a PIA to get back in. I have done lots of removals in the past with no issues. The Ipad mount is from Tackform, I like it better than the X-Grip Arm from Ram that I used to use. The X-Grip gets in the way of a lot of the buttons on the iPad vs the top arms on the Tackform mount.

I am going to swap the phone mount with another Tackform mount with the elbow. Ram makes something similar if folks are committed to Ram. I loved mine but again the Xgrip gets in the way of all of the buttons. I prefer to have my gadgets as low as possible to avoid blocking my forward visibility.

I was hesitating at first to go with ICS because of the drilling, but now that I’m planning on running a bunch of accessories, it’s the best mounting platform in my opinion. Now I just need to find the time to get it in.
