Diffinitive cell phone mount solution thread?
One thing that has been driving my crazy is there is nowhere to stash my phone when driving.
I am not a huge fan of the vent mounts or windshield suction mounts. Just wondering what you use and what works well.
I like the looks of that Steelie mount. A little ball and magnet. But the darn phone is so big. Working on getting a smaller phone (iPhone XS) but I don’t want to spend the $1000 😱.
Thanks group

Do you plan on offloading???? Ram mount is your only solution.
I"ve done magnetic mounts, and while they are fine for freeway or commuting...anything rougher than that...say a washboard road, your phone will end up everywhere in your cab but on that mount.

I just drop mine in the shift boot for the transfer case.

QuadLock case and mount... if you have an aftermarket stereo.

What stereo and surround did you use? Was it carbon or did you wrap it? Looks awesome.

it is a wrap that I put on the Metra dash kit. It isn't perfect, but I really didn't like the light gray look to the metra kit.

Edit: Reading is fundamental - Just saw you're not a fan of vent mounts. Oh well.
This is hands down the best solution I've found. Credit goes to
@ weeeee
.
https://www.toyota-4runner.org/2219313-post31.html
No drilling into the dash, no adhesives to weaken in the summer heat, no magnets. Just a solid mechanical mounting solution. I've been using mine for probably year. This setup is rock solid. Doesn't block my vision of the road or the LCD screen. Blocks that one vent a little, but I don't miss it.

I've got the Scosche Magic Mount, I've taken it on some rough forest service roads and haven't lost it from the mount, surprisingly.

I absolutely love ProClip mounts.
Its solid and stays put while off roading. This version charges the phone as well.

I really dont know but haven't found anything that says it does.
I personally believe that it will break away just like the A Pillar breaks away since there isn't any drilling. Its just constructed to "snap" into place and so I feel like when the a pillar swings away the mount will swing out with it.

Phone holder
Has anyone tried that phone mount that goes in cup holder weather tech has been advertising? Might be a good option in the forward cup holder?
