Replacement Wheel Bearing - HUB Seal/Dust Seal?
For the life of me, I cannot locate the correct Toyota part number for the seal everyone recommends replacing when putting in new HUB/bearing assemblies. I blame my lack of Google-fu...certainly not the alcohol
Is it the Dust Seal - Toyota (43442-35060)
OR...
Is the the Inner Seal - Toyota (90316-A0001)
OR...
Am I way off?

Did you ever figure this out? I’m about to have my front wheel bearing / hub replaced and I want to make sure I get the right part for the inner dust seal everyone says to make sure to replace as well. I was thinking it was the first one of your two images. Is that right?

I'm pulling apart my front hub / wheel bearing assembly, and want to know if this seal (90316-A0001) is installed from the inside of the hub, or from the inner / back side? I assume it's bad because I found a little spring behind the bearing assembly. Do I have to remove the drive shaft and install from the back side?
I tried uploading a photo, but it fails every time.
I'm confused because toyota dealer shows 90316-A0001 as the same part as 90316-72001, but looking these parts online, they look different.

The seal is located inside the steering knuckle and only visible when the hub / bearing assembly is removed. I found a garter spring that I believe must've come from there.

When I removed the steering knuckle I found this slightly mangled spring here (yellow arrow). The spring in the dust shield in the steering knuckle was still in place, and the hub kit I bought from NAPA had the dust shield (with spring) as well as another spring like the one by the yellow arrow. I decided to put that spring in the groove on the CV dust shield (red arrow). Don't know if that's correct but it seemed the only place for it to go.

The seal is installed from the inner side of the steering knuckle, so you have to remove the knuckle from the axle to replace the seal. Tap out the old seal from the outside (yellow arrow), then use the grease cap that covers the axle nut to help you tap in the new seal from the inside.

Thanks 8000. Is it possible to remove the steering knuckle without replacing the wheel bearing? I am debating finishing the bearing job, and then working on the CV's and these seals in a few weeks. If that's a bad idea, please tell me my thinking is off base. Thanks

I don't see why not, it just means pulling off the hub assembly again. The biggest issue I faced was getting the sway bar link off of the steering knuckle (rust!!!!). While you're replacing the bearing/hub I would see if it the link nut will come off; if not, then you could have a reciprocating saw/hacksaw and a replacement link available when you do the dust seals.
ETA: I removed the LCA bolts, tie rod end, sway link, and hub, and left the knuckle hanging on the UCA bolt while replacing the dust seal. The seal would be tough to remove with the hub still in place--if you were thinking of pulling the hub/knuckle assembly off as a unit.

I had to replace the left front wheel bearing on my 2010 Trail a couple of months ago. I went with Blue Pit Bearings (bluepitbearings.com) and it could not have been easier. Entire assembly showed up in 2 days, and took me about 90 minutes to install. Undo all the bolts, get it off the axle, put in the new one, and done. Blue Pit has several options, I went with teh all Toyota version. It costs more, but I was OK with that.

I have the blue pit ready to install. I was just waiting for my torque wrench to arrive. My issue is that I can see some limited damage to the dust seal on the back side of the steering knuckle. I was hoping this would be plug and play, but it's taken me deeper. I'm concerned that if I disconnect the knuckle, I might damage some of the rubber boots back there. I'm in Colorado so dust is not my main concern. Thank gang
