I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one.. It does drive really nice and as long as it will clear the 285's I have even with a BMC I will be happy- just seems that most people get 2.5" or more with this setup..

I have 1½" lift on front (spacer) and 285's.
I did have the fronts barely touch one spot on the inner fenders.
I predrilled the fenders and moved them 1" and no more contact.
Even with the contact there was never any damage. The tires had to be cranked hard and the suspension compressed for them to touch.

Anyway everything went well and we also installed the dirt king ball joint uca's.. I only got 2 inches of lift in the front.. I was expecting at least 2.5.. Have you heard of this or have any ideas why I only ended up with 2? No extra weight- bumpers, winch, etc..
I just did mine set at #2 and didn't get the 1.4 that's advertised. I'm moving mine up to #4. This is a 2020 with KDSS. Bilstein does say the posted numbers are general.

i have 6112 with 600 lb and set my notch to maxed out #7. I have a rear wheelers 1.5 t13 in the rear and still have a rake. I have skids and sliders and a gobi rack. Im wondering if i can add a 1/2 spacer in the front to gain 1 inch to level it or go with a 650 lb spring for the front. Might be a rough ride though... stressing The Bilstein chart is definitely inaccurate for my 18 with kdss.

Red face

I have 7/5 set with HeadStrong 1/2" spacer on 650# Kings. I'm weighted down and it feels great to me. I enjoy the slightly stiffer feel, it does ride tall which I always liked coming from a Tacoma.

For offroading, the stiffer springs and less lift with more wheel travel will perform much better than a big static lift in both desert and rocks. The 600 are too soft for the desert. They are tolerable in rocks (unless you have had stiffer springs already and can tell the difference).

The ride quality change on the 6112 from 600 to 650 is huge. I know you have had various springs before, but for me it goes like this:

1/ 600 on SL tires: plush
2/ 650 on heavy LTE tires: very good, which is what I have now
3/ 650 on SL tires: just okay

This is with 206 rear springs and Icon 2.0 rears in all 3 cases.

I must say that #3 involved tires at 50% (and #1) whereas #2 involves brand new tires. The ride will inevitably deteriorate at some point but I think that the heavier tires help.

I don't think that 650 added anything on road, as 600 was great already. But it really made a huge difference off road.

What is your measurement from hub to fender in the front?

Bilstein 6112 leveling kits are designed to provide more ground clearance,
allow for larger tires, and increase wheel travel.
How does a shock increase ground clearance? The rear diff is the lowest point and there isn't a shock on the market that changes that.

Definitely a good question.

Ground clearance comes from tires.

Aftermarket suspension options, like 5100's and 6112's,
help create lift to allow for bigger tires to be installed.

Oh I understand how it works, just calling out the claim that the shocks themselves increase ground clearance, rather than allowing ground clearance to be increased indirectly though subsequent, additional modifications to the truck.
